It’s been a few days of beauty, adventure, and discovery, but with Day Four, @theloliaba ’s Kigali journey comes to a close. And as always with #TravelDiaries, she takes us along for every moment of it.🇷🇼 The morning begins slowly, a welcome shift after days of nonstop movement. Dressed in the KAKA Dress by RÍRÁN (@shopriran ), she heads out to honour a generous invitation from Maryse Mbonyumutwa (@marysembo ), Founder & CEO of Pink Mango Rwanda and Asantii (@asantii_official ). There, she gets an intimate look at what it means to build African fashion infrastructure with intention, care, and vision on African soil. Then comes an unplanned but absolutely necessary stop at Repub Lounge (@republounge ) for a proper Rwandan meal: cassava ugali, isombe, Rwandan beans, and Repub stew with goat. Her verdict? You’ll have to find out.😉 Later, she returns to Mövenpick Kigali (@movenpickkigali ) to pack slowly, stand at her sixth-floor window one final time, and say goodbye to a city that gave her far more than she expected. If you’re an adventurer at heart, you’ll love day three of @theloliaba ’s ongoing series, #TravelDiaries. And of course, she’s taking us along for the ride! A stark contrast to the days before, she begins at 3:40am in a custom three-piece set from Iwacu Active Wear (@iwacu_active_wear ). With a quick breakfast and her go-to cup of African tea, she sets off into the slowly brightening morning. What begins as a picturesque trail soon turns demanding but despite the demanding terrain, @theloliaba conquers the trek. Coming face to face with the endangered silverback mountain gorillas according to her, is an out of body experience. Having conquered the trek, she indulges in a restorative pause at the luxurious Bisate eco-lodge (@wearewilderness ). In her Splash Dress by Huniwrld (@huniwrld ), she feels vibrant and feminine as she enjoys the peace and quiet of the grounds, as well as a quick lunch. She returns to Kigali for the FIFA friendlies, waving her flag in support of Rwanda amid a medley of roars and vuvuzelas. The team wins by a landslide — a view she enjoys from surprise VVIP booths, and she ends the night with some room service at the Mövenpick Kigali (@movenpickkigali ). It’s day two, and @theloliaba is settling into Kigali. With her ongoing series #TravelDiaries, she’s documenting her journey through the wonderful city and taking us along. 🇷🇼 Fresh off the emotional weight of the previous day, she begins the day with a slight headache — a lingering reminder of all she had taken in. After a few still moments by the window overlooking the city, she gathers herself, slipping into the Tanya skirt set from Soso Lagos (@sosolagos_ ), and of course, grabbing a warm cup of African tea at breakfast.❤️ The day picks up rather seamlessly. Her first stop is Sonia Mugabo (@soniamugabo ) in the Gasabo district, followed by visits to standout African brands including Saint Umi (@saint.umi ), Mwinda (@mwinda__ ), and House of Tayo (@houseoftayo ), each offering unique approaches to structure, tailoring, and design. A quick coffee break and lunch follow before she heads to the Irebe Centre (@irebe_basket_collection ) for an immersive basket-weaving experience, then a slow drive back to the Mövenpick (@movenpickkigali ) before dinner at Kōzo Kigali (@kozokigali ), dressed in the FAARI dress in “Butter” by RÍRÁN (@shopriran ). It’s day one — and officially @theloliaba ’s first full day in Kigali. With her ongoing series, #TravelDiaries, she’s documenting her journey through the city, and taking us along with her ✨ Her first morning unfolds rather peacefully — she wakes to the cool morning sun streaming into her hotel room.
