Men’s health, and men’s mental health are some of the things I care deeply about.
Last September @almost_fast told me his story, his willingness to share it with the world, and his desire to reduce a stigma while helping to fund mental health initiatives.
In just under a month, myself and @shimizuimg are heading to the Okanagan to witness, photograph, and film Jessy run very very very far.
This is the biggest and most ambitious filmmaking project I’ve taken on. It’s scary, anxiety inducing, but mostly, exciting. Gear’s (mostly) ready….

This isn’t a film about running
In two weeks @almost_fast will set off on a run. This is not a normal run, and definitely not a short one.
This is a run about the necessities behind the physical challenges we pursue. From the day to day decisions to go to the gym, to the ambitious weekend pushes. Why we do the things we do is personal but sometimes, given the context, worthy of deeper analysis.
The gear’s almost all ready, the @monsterenergy white monsters are being stockpiled, and the crew’s getting ready for days of minimal sleep and maximum vibes.

THE NEVER ALONE PROJECT
We’re 48 hours out from go time!!
On Friday, September 5th at 7AM @almost_fast sets off. Almost 300km of running, aiming to be the fastest person to run around the Okanagan Lake.
Why? To ensure no one ever has to feel alone.

I didn’t ski enough this year! But, I did get to experience perfect groomers at Nakiska on a freshly tuned pair of slalom skis…which counts for something!

Nakiska brings back some of my fondest memories.
Spring turns on slalom skis, not a care in the world but trying to hit bigger and bigger angles. There are few places in the Rockies where a turn feels as good as it does at Nakiska. Sure, pow days are great, but consistent groomers and enough space to let loose is where I feel most alive.
