The fungus has no brain.
The cells have no body.
Both seem to learn.
So what counts as a mind?
Strange Life explores intelligence beyond the human, where networks think, cells respond, and the line between life and mind starts to blur.
Two speakers. One question.
The rest is up to you.

Silent Pages Society is back this month, and registration is now open for our next installment.
For those new here: Silent Pages Society is a roaming, citywide reading experience for adults who crave the quiet hum of collective solitude. Each gathering finds a new home, and this time we're at @archipelagodenver .
Join us on April 23 for an evening of reading accompanied by live music from @temporalchemist —soft, cozy sounds that drift through the space like background warmth. It's the kind of gentle atmosphere that invites you to sink deeper into your chair, turn pages a little slower, and let the outside world fall quiet while you read alongside others doing the same.

When literature meets art, a story finds new ways to speak.
Denver Public Library's AfterWord Residency brings together author @ennuiperkins and musician Tom Hagerman of @devotchkamusic for an evening where the two worlds intertwine. Join us Thursday, April 2 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. as Hoke discusses his novel Open Throat—a lyrical story narrated by a mountain lion beneath the Hollywood Sign—and Hagerman performs an original piece inspired by the book. A story heard twice: once in language, and again in music.

I’m on a mission to try one new thing a week in Colorado…
Part 8: Book club... but make it on a train with @denverlibrary , @ridertd & @denverunionstation . BYOB (bring your own book) and move through the city with zero distractions. Just you, your book and a bunch of other bookworms! 📚
Silent Pages Society has events every other month at a unique location in the city (not always on the train). Their next event is April 24 at the Archipelago so make sure to keep an eye out for registration.
We still have seats available for the next Curiosity Collective on March 5.
After Dark brings together observational cosmologist Prof. Erica Ellingson and typewriter poet R.R. Noall to explore one question: What becomes visible when the lights go out?
Erica will guide us through the invisible architecture of the universe—galaxy clusters, dark matter, and the long human history of making meaning from the night sky. R.R. will respond with instant typewriter poems, providing tiny portals into feeling, memory, and wonder.
Thursday, March 5 at 6:30 p.m. at the @mavenhotel . Reserve your seat at the link in bio.
Come meet three debut authors who are already making waves.
On March 13, we're hosting an evening with Stephen Fishbach, Kim Samek, and Michelle Gurule—moderated by Adam Vitcavage of @debutiful —for an honest conversation about breaking into publishing, the craft behind their first books, and what it really takes to launch a literary career. Stick around for a Q&A and book signing after.
Doors open at 6:30pm in the Park View Room at Central Library. Registration is required. Link in bio.
On February 26, we’re taking Silent Pages on the N Line—reading together as the city moves around us.
No assigned reading.
No discussion circles.
Just you, your book, and the quiet presence of others immersed in their own stories.

Last month, we came together at Sloan's Lake for walking, listening, and connection. Thank you to everyone who made the first Audionauts such a special experience.
We can't wait to do it again—join us on March 22 at Wash Park for our next walk. Register at the link in bio.
