Everyone wants stronger glutes. Most people try to build them up with linear lifts like squats and deadlifts. It’s not that the glutes don’t contribute to hinging or squatting patterns. They absolutely do. But their primary function shows up in gait. They extend the hip dynamically while the body moves through space. They stabilize the pelvis during single-leg stance. They transfer force from the ground up as you walk and sprint. If you only train them in bilateral, vertical patterns, you miss the environment that maximizes their output. @theleverageking is one of the many tools we use at Functional Patterns to help you switch on and properly recruit your glutes during movements like hip extension. It sits higher on the shin than a traditional ankle strap. The difference isn’t about longer leverage. It’s about cleaner force transfer. Imagine pulling a sled with a long, loose rope attached low. Now imagine gripping it closer with less slack. The closer grip reduces wobble and wasted movement, so the force transfers more directly into the sled. Same principle here. By sitting higher on the shin, the pull reduces unwanted knee movement and improves the line of force into hip extension. Instead of energy leaking through the knee, more of it is directed into the glutes. That’s why the tension feels stronger and more connected. Stronger pull. Better force transfer. More usable output. #functionalpatterns #functionaltraining #glutes #sprinting #biomechanics

@preston.o.daniel working on the Leverage King here, and this is a perfect example of how one input can tension the whole system. Yes, the focus is on the adductors and inner thighs. He is using hip position and ground pressure to create tension where most people are weak and disconnected. But because the tool is built on leverage, the effort does not stay local. As he drives tension through the inner thighs, that force has to travel somewhere. It links into the pelvis, then the obliques, then the deeper core, and continues up into the ribcage, upper back, and even the shoulders. Now the body is not just squeezing a muscle. It is distributing force through a chain. The key is his hip position. He is not just pulling. He is organizing his pelvis so the femur can sit well in the socket. That alignment gives him the leverage to actually load the adductors instead of dumping stress into the knees or lower back. This is what makes it a true total body exercise. The lower half is emphasized, especially the inner thighs, but the entire system has to coordinate to make the position work. Strength gets built with structure, not on top of compensation. #functionalpatterns #fpisthestandard #projectfunction #theleverageking #legworkout

@dominic_meliado getting creative with his client Anthony. This will definitely toast your upper and lower body at the same time. Best part is that it’ll also be improving your running mechanics 🧰 #functionalpatterns #theleverageking #gluteworkout #legworkout #fpisthestandard

Every tool we create @fpinnovations is built with you in mind. When people use our tools, whether for themselves or with their clients, the goal is the same: real change, not temporary relief. When know that time is money and that’s why our tools are built around leverage. Leverage creates strength without wasted effort and produces global tension throughout the body. When you train this way, you’re not isolating parts, you’re loading the body as a unit. That’s why 15 minutes can feel like an hour. The tension is high, but it’s purposeful. It’s functional tension, the kind that transfers to how you actually move, not just how you look while training. We know choosing to take care of yourself isn’t always easy. Learning how to put yourself first, to actually respect your body and your health, takes effort. But once you do, it becomes one of the most valuable things you can give yourself. Our role is simple. We’re here to support you in that process and help make that path clearer and more effective. Shout out to @hafeez_hassan__ for putting @theleverageking @rg.bell @functioneck @rg_bar_ to work! #functionalpatterns #projectfunction #functionaltraining #totalbodyworkout

@jackie__maywood with some LK work. “Honestly I go through phases where I am sickly obsessed with one of the many FP tools, but this one,by far, has been my favorite for well over a year! It just creates tension like nothing else!” 🙌🏽🔥 @theleverageking @regentrainer @functionalpatterns #functionalpatterns #fpisthestandard #projectfunction #functionalfitness #gluteworkout

Professional basketball player @mannyalonso_hernandez breaks down what he likes about the Leverage King, and he’s spot on. It’s a tool you can easily strap to a resistance band, toss in your practice bag, and pull out anytime you need it. Use it during warm-ups before practice, before a pickup game at the park, or even ahead of a hike. It’s simple, portable, and effective. You don’t need a full setup to get value from it. Just grab it, load it, and get your legs and system ready to move. In this case, that means getting prepped to play some basketball with Manny but it could be a warm up to a family soccer game or weekend hike. #functionalpatterns #fpisthestandard #legworkout #theleverageking #gluteworkout

The glute max is a large part of what makes us great at moving. It’s what lets us stand upright, walk, sprint, and change direction on two feet. The Leverage King lets you train the glutes the way they’re actually used, through leverage and real movement, not just up and down. Here, @mannyalonsohernandez shows how it carries directly into sport, cutting, driving, and applying force the same way you do in most sports. #functionalpatterns #fpisthestandard #theleverageking #gluteworkout #basketballtraining

When it comes to training your legs, there’s no better reference than how they’re meant to move when you sprint. The glutes and leg muscles are built to express force in that pattern. If you’re going to train, do it with intention. Train in alignment with how the system actually moves. Don’t train out of alignment. @rickgotemhatin shows us how he trains intentionally with the @theleverageking #functionalpatterns #projectfunction #theleverageking #gluteworkout #legworkout

At the end of the day, addiction seems to be part of most people’s lives because you can literally be addicted to any behavior, even to smelling roses 🌹 It gets a bad reputation because most people get hooked on things that slowly break them down. But if you’re going to be “addicted” to something, it might as well be something that makes you stronger, more resilient, and healthier over time. @_michelle.johnson__ uses the @rg.bell and @theleverageking together, she’s training her body in ways that actually matter, building resilience that carries over to real life, not just the gym. If more people got hooked on training that made them harder to break, we’d be in a much better place. They say one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind. That’s honestly what it feels like the first time you use the Leverage King. Most people spend years squatting and deadlifting with barely any real glute tension. Then you grab @theleverageking and the leverage pulls the weight away from your body, forcing your glutes to actually show up. It’s a completely different signal. A different conversation with your tissues. For a lot of people, that first rep becomes the “giant leap.” It’s not about lifting more weight, it’s about getting the right tissues to contract at the right time. That’s the shift the Leverage King gives you, and once you feel it, you can’t unfeel it. @lou.ellery hitting some step throughs with @theleverageking #functionalpatterns #projectfunction #fpisthestandard #theleverageking #gluteworkout #legworkout #functionaltraining

Physical therapist turned FP practitioner breaks it down simple: most traditional exercises like squats barely scratch the surface when it comes to engaging your glutes. You’re loading up and down, but you’re not actually moving the femur through the ranges that get the deeper glutes, the externals, and the hip rotators working together the way a human is built to move. With the Leverage King, you’re not just going north and south. You’re getting three-dimensional leverage. You’re rotating, decelerating, and then driving the femur from flexion into extension with a full-body integrated contraction. And when people finally feel that full contraction of the glutes wrapping, lifting, and stabilizing in all planes, that’s when they start to notice the healing kick in fast. Thanks to @tom_meade_ for sharing his experience with @theleverageking so far. #functionalpatterns #projectfunction #fpisthestandard #theleverageking #gluteworkout #legworkout #functionaltraining
