It’s Jon Robinson’s Annual Birthday Bash at the Latona! @funky_ginger_jon
He’ll be celebrating with Audrey Stangland on trombone and vocals, Sam Jaeger on guitar, and Michael Campbell on drums (and of course, you).
Born in Houston and raised in the great PNW as a pastor’s kid, Jon grew up learning to play bass through gospel music and followed the natural musical pathway into the funk/soul/RNB world. He stumbled into jazz and the upright bass in his first year of college and quickly fell in love with these sounds and rhythms he had never heard before. After earning his Bachelors of Arts in Music from Central Washington University, he played in a collection of bands as a sideman for years until COVID came and shut everything down. The years since then have been very retrospective, thinking of the core reasons why people play and listen to music, which has resulted in this band.
Jon’s quartet honors the people and music that came before that have given us so much, but is presented in a unique format that blends all of Jon’s past inspirations into something you haven’t quite heard before. Happy Birthday to our favorite funky ginger! 🍻

Audrey is busy performing or recording in the Seattle area with groups like Seattle Repertory Jazz Orchestra, the Alex Dugdale Big Band, Nueva Era, The Pazific, Banda Vagos, the Freddy Fuego Big Band, and a heavy groove horn band called Simple Minded Symphony. She’s got a studied mixed bag of music references which always makes for a great live show and why we always look forward to being her back in Green Lake! Music starts at 7pm 5/2 #liveatlatona
A big thank you to @thelatonapub for organizing their annual Earth Day Keg Walk!
This event challenges breweries to get their kegs from their brew houses to the Pub without the use of motorized transportation. We had a fun and amazing time walking the kegs miles through Seattle last week.
Participating breweries and the Latona Pub helped raise over $1,000 for Washington Wild’s work protecting and defending our wildlands and waterways.
@bizarrebrewing won the Sponsor a Walker challenge and thus will have a permanent tap at the Latona Pub for 3 months. Thanks to all those who participated in the Keg Walking.
