Blending reverb-soaked production with minimalist electronics, the KVB's (@thekvb ) ever-evolving cold wave always reflects their mastery of atmosphere. On early releases such as 2012's debut album Always Then, Kat Day and Nicholas Wood's brittle beats and sonic blasts evoked Cabaret Voltaire and the Jesus and Mary Chain in equal measure. Later, the duo's style encompassed the streamlined, sharp-edged sounds of 2018's Only Now Forever, the spacious vistas of 2021's Unity, and the darkly danceable moods of 2024's Tremors.

“City Verges” 🛣️ taken from our debut Echo Instinct @echoinstinct.av release ‘Electronic Soundscapes For Post-Industrial Urban Decay’.
A track best listened to while on a night drive through the ruins of the modern world.
The last remaining tapes are available via our Bandcamp.
Today we present the first release from our new A/V project Echo Instinct @echoinstinct.av - ‘Electronic Soundscapes For Post-Industrial Urban Decay’.
This album gathers a collection of recordings and improvisations made between 2021 and 2025, crafted from a patchwork of synthesizers, drum machines, manipulated samples and field recordings. Inspired by the ever-changing concrete cityscapes of our former home in Berlin and the derelict, overgrown red-brick factories surrounding our new base in east Manchester, the album isn’t a soundtrack for a dystopian future — it’s a journey through the modern ruins of the world we live in today.
It is now available on limited-edition cassette and digital via @bandcamp

Deep End (Virtual Reality Music Video) is a dystopian VR environment with interactive sonic elements best experienced via a VR headset.
‘Deep End’ is set in an abandoned, decayed dystopian city, which has almost completely been swallowed up by the rising oceans. The concrete sea defences have done little to halt the end of the world, but instead echo sonic elements of the song when interacted with.
Full playthrough video available via YouTube.
Free VR playable download coming soon.
