Quick little short film I shot the other day with @joerussellproductions and @fionadorn and my entire crew of @themuratmontero -who pulled triple duty ACing, gripping and lighting- (I also did grip and lighting, besides shooting it) and we managed to knock it out in a 10-hour day.
This project for some VFX artists came together last minute, but I think we had a good time. I don't recommend always working in this way, but it's fun seeing what you can do with almost no resources (manpower or equipment).

I did some camera operating on this commercial with director @darvood and cinematographer @chrissaul the other week. I've worked with all the other surviving Star Trek: The Original Series main cast except for William Shatner, so it was awesome to finally meet and work with the original captain. 🖖

Recent iHeartRadio AMA I shot for @alicetheg00n
We went for a harder light, underlit look inspired by a particular movie scene. Shot on RED Komodo with a Sony ZV-E1 b-cam for the second angle and @dulens.hk@dulens.official APO Mini Primes.

Quick and simple lyric video for a friend. We shot this in a recording studio with just a couple lights (primarily China balls wrapped in muslin) and a crew of two.

Fun little action short I helped with. It was a DC Comics fan film that my friend @mr.scottybaker had been shooting, but was unavailable for this shoot day. We shot on the BlackMagic Pocket Camera, the first time I had ever used that specific one. They're fun little things.
I shot it with a fairly flat color profile, as I liked the grunge it imparted and, more importantly, gave post production more flexibility to dial in the colors and contrast how they wanted. These shots are some I grabbed straight off the camera and tweaked just a tiny bit to add back in some color and contrast, so not exactly what the final look was.
A few more screen grabs from At the Edge of Time. Of the series of films I had done around this time, I think this one was finally starting to move in a visual direction I was happier with than my earlier work. I was getting better compositionally and unlike a lot of my previous films that were shot mostly on sets or outdoors at night, I was finally getting to shoot real locations and use natural light more often, a key component when crew and budget are more limited.

These are from a movie I shot a while back called At the Edge of Time, but I'm not sure what ever happened with it. We endured some 110°F+ temperatures shooting in the desert on this one. I think I got a concussion one day when I hit my head on the camera crane as well. There was blood, sweat, and tears from both cast and crew to get this done. I'd like to see it some day.

Sometimes you meet great people working on a project. I've made some amazing, long time friends over the years that I've gone on to work with again and again. This is from another sci-fi movie I shot called Starship.
