Welcoming our official new keeper in residence …
@_____niicole
Niicolé is a jeweller from Tāmaki Makaurau. She studied for one year at Goldsmithing school then continued her practice on her own. Working for many years on her first collection before releasing it at the end of 2024.
Her jewellery is intuitive, masterly, unexpected arrangements of earthly treasures: freshwater pearls, onyx, malachite, and metals.
Taking cue from Renaissance jewel configurations and the extravagance of costume jewellery. (Words by Constance Mary Holden McDonald)
Pieces now available at The Keep
Handmade by our Keepers, our latest window display welcomes the Big Red Horse of the Lunar New Year - a symbol of strength, movement, and new beginnings.
By day it glows quietly in the light,
by night it shines like a small beacon on the street.
Come wander past and take a look. 🐎❤️
Twenty-six years ago, our building was home to the Pink Pussycat Club. At the turn of the millennium, the club closed and the building was panted grey.
In December, we repainted our walls pink as a nod to its past.
Special thanks to @isaac.sms , who not only painted The Keep but also took these photographs.
Wellington friends — we’re coming.
These works will be at the Hunters & Collectors pop-up this week.
One-off pieces, studio collections, and special Lela Jacobs garments —
made by hands, shaped slowly, and meant to be worn.
Come see the full offering in person.
Touch the cloth. Try things on. Spend a moment with the work.

Welcoming our official new keeper in residence…
Annabella Schnabel @annabella_sbel
A jeweller from Tāmaki Makaurau, her practice draws strongly upon her background in architecture ; translating ideas from macro-scale buildings into micro-scale objects for the body. Inspired by the duality of organic and structured forms found in both the built and natural worlds, her work reflects a deep sensitivity to material and form. Her German heritage threads through her approach, grounding her practice in a lineage of precision, craftsmanship, and design.
