This year, we’re thrilled to welcome 12 incredible participants from the Black and Indigenous communities into an immersive, hands-on learning experience — hosted at the beautiful @thisistoastandjam post-production studio.
Over the next two weeks, songwriters, music producers, and — new to this year — emerging music supervisors will gain application-based knowledge designed to sharpen their creative, technical, and business skills in the world of music for film, TV, and media.

Michelle consults for Music BC’s Jumpstart program, mentors with Women In Music Canada, and has developed national programming across Alberta, Ontario, and Nova Scotia. Named one of Canada’s Top 100 Black Women to Watch in 2024 by CIBWE and author of the anthology “You Have So Much Potential,” she champions inclusive career development and equitable access for underrepresented creators across the country.

@thehookscl hosted a 7-day training on music production for 2 films entering into production. The program was designed to teach music production and music supervision. We had 6 participants for the Music Supervision stream that learned how to cue music for the scripts, write briefs, manage budget and license and clear the works. The 4 Music producers in training delivered 12 top tier songs that will now be licensed for those movies.

I'm exhausted but excited and elated at what is coming and gets closer everyday. @thehookandco , @thehooksyncgroup and @thehookscl is preparing to serve more creatives than ever before.
More than anything, I gotta thank my team!! It's been a blessing to work with individuals who share in the same passion as I do for where their expertise lies. I've only ever wanted to give back. Not only to those I serve from a client perspective but to my internal team. It's insanely empowering to witness geniuses in their own right come together with purpose and precision and apply it to an idea that will empower their reality and showcase their greatness also. I've always known I alone could not accomplish anything this great nor do I want to. It ALWAYS takes a team of masterminds to connect puzzle pieces together so the picture could be seen by others. This is my wish for them. To thrive and reach success in their own right through an idea transformed into a platform that will create sustainable living to and for creatives.
