@sxsw begins this week and I’m incredibly grateful to be completely booked as an event correspondent and #WomanOnTheStreet interview host across multiple events. It’s been exactly 10 years since I made my first big leap into Marketing & Event Correspondence. A pivotal point in my life that reminds me that ONE encounter can change everything but you have to be willing to say yes. You have to be brave enough to take risks. And most importantly, you have to be bold enough to share your dreams with others… because people can’t help you if they don’t know what you’re building. So much of this journey has come from conversations, faith, and simply being willing to speak the vision out loud. This is the mindset and energy I hope everyone attending SXSW brings into this week. You may have come to Austin with nothing but an idea and you could leave with investors, collaborators, and business partners. One conversation can change everything. But it requires courage. Be brave enough to speak the dream out loud, even if your voice quivers. The right people can’t support what they never hear. You never know who’s in the room or how one moment could change the trajectory of your future. Join me in wishing my big sister a Happy Birthday! Today I thank God for your life, your strength, your wisdom, and the love you pour into everyone around you. You are the standard. You teach your younger siblings how to be loved, how to ask for love, how to be brave, and how to move through this world. You become their second mother in so many ways carrying, guiding, protecting, sacrificing, and loving even when you’re tired yourself. I hope you know how much of who we are is because of you.
