Our Creative Writing & Creative Thinking workshop was a brilliant afternoon well spent, and the room agreed!
Cat Hogan led an incredible session on the fundamentals of storytelling, creative thinking techniques for business, and how to actually use your head when it comes to your writing and your brand.
Cat is an international bestselling novelist and screenwriter from Wexford, with a track record of facilitating workshops for businesses through the @local_enterprise_offices network and curating writing events all over Ireland, and it showed.
The workshop was brilliantly received, with plenty of big ideas, honest conversation about what storytelling can (and canât) do, and real takeaways for everyone in the room.
More Artist in Residence events are coming soon: watch this space!
We are so delighted to be able to support @goreycelticfc
sponsoring some of their kit.
You know weâre all about local team spirit here at The Hatch Lab and the U12 Gorey Celtic FC couldnât embody that more.
Well done all, keep up the good work!
â New International Education Offering Based in #Gorey
Delighted to be at the launch of ExpertEd by @qedoneducation at @thehatchlab this evening.
Congratulations to @dylans_3 , Susan and the team on building this excellent that is supporting digital learning for businesses in Ireland and South Africa and with plans to grow further.
Last week @thehatchlab CEO John O Connor appeared before the Joint Committee on Social Protection, Rural and Community Development alongside SiobhĂĄn Finn (Community Enterprise Association Ireland) and Patricia Frayne (Portlaoise Enterprise Centre) to make the case for community enterprise centres and hubs across Ireland.
For the micro businesses and small enterprises anchored in towns like Gorey and Enniscorthy (Enniscorthy Enterprise & Technology Centre) stable core funding is the key to a town that thrives.
The ask is straightforward:
â Fund our centres properly.
â Invest in the people who run them.
â Recognise this sector as the professional, high-performing part of Irelandâs regional economy that it already is.
Well done John, proud to have had a voice in that room

Big news from one of our own.
ACTIV app , resident right here at The Hatch Lab, has just been formally designated an Official Industry Partner for collaborative research with the University of Limerick and the University of Southampton.
Thatâs a âŹ2M research project backed by EPSRC and Research Ireland.
Niall Jordan and the ACTiV App team are doing something genuinely exciting, building a science backed platform thatâs now supporting studies in metabolic health, behaviour change, and long term disease risk prediction.
Real data, real-world outcomes, real impact.
Weâre incredibly proud to have ACTiV App as part of the Hatch Lab community. Watch this space. đ

What if your teenager could direct their own VR film, in an afternoon?
This June, @thehatchlab is bringing something genuinely exciting to Gorey for CruinniĂș na nĂg.
The 360 Filmmaking & VR Experience Workshop gives young people aged 13â17 the chance to pick up a 360 camera, shoot their own film, edit it, and watch it back through a VR headset, all in one three-hour session.
Facilitated by @goreyartschool , participants get hands-on with professional-grade cameras and editing systems, plus some smartphone filmmaking skills they can take away and use straight after.
Itâs free.
Itâs in person.
Itâs the kind of afternoon that might just spark something.

Coffee, connection, and great conversation last Friday at The Hatch Lab!
We were delighted to welcome the @networkirelandwexford for their monthly networking meetup.
So wonderful to see such a great turnout, and a huge thank you to Maeve Dunne for hosting and bringing this brilliant community into The Hatch.
This is exactly what The Hatch Lab is here for, opening our doors to the people and networks that make Wexfordâs business community thrive.

Sneak peek: whatâs happening with our Artist in Residence programme at The Hatch Lab Lab Gorey. đŹ
This initiative was created to inject real creativity into the businesses working here and this week, our first port of call was a Smartphone Filmmaking Workshop.
The ideaâs straightforward: business owners already have the tools they need to create brilliant content.
A smartphone.
Thatâs it.
This workshop gave them the practical skills to use whatâs at their fingertips: framing, shooting, editing, to tell their business story on screen.
None of this would be possible without @wexfordcoco , @creativeireland , @setuireland and the incredible work of @terencewhitefilmmaker .
Keep an eye out for more updates on whatâs coming next.
And if youâve got questions about the programme, reach out weâd love to hear
from you.

That time of month again. đ„
The Hatch Lab crew heads out, finds good food, good company (to be fair they donât need to venture too far for good company)
That being said a break from the office with colleagues is always welcome, especially when the lunch is this good!
If you missed it last monyj, don't worry Laura Cazabon of @stardigital.ie is back again this time next month with Social Media Thursday.
No time like the present to priortise your online presence and learn from the best in the business 1:1.
But don't take out word for it, check out some of these testimonials:
âI came out with so much more knowledge of Facebook and the best way to target your audience, how to post so that it gets recognised and how to build up your views on your page. It was all in simple steps that was easy to take away and understand.'
'Laura gave me such clear and effective advice - really helped to demystify the social media world for me and boost engagement with my business . I've attended 2 clinics so far and I'm looking forward to more . '
