Compendium has become quite the behemoth these days, with over 111,300 unique visitors in the last 30 days alone, and some days the workload can become a little overwhelming.
Keeping on top of the growing number of requests for data changes, additions, corrections, and tweaks through emails, DMs, and multiple platforms has started to become difficult to manage.
To help streamline this, I’ve now implemented an Update Submission form across the site.
Using the form, you can submit requests either generally or tied to a specific event, artist, or entry. You’ll now see a new “Submit Update” button throughout the site.
Add the details of the requested changes along with any relevant sources, and I can properly review and implement them instead of trying to track which DMs or emails I’ve already actioned. There is also now a public request change log so you can follow the status of submitted updates.
For the time being, any new or updated images that need adding will still need to be sent via email.
I’ll continue reviewing and actioning corrections and additions as they come in, but at least now everything will be in one place.

Its 171 days until Golden Demon Spiel. GW have released a v2.0 of the rules pack. This is largely identical to v1.0, with the following changes:
1) Licensed products explicitly disallowed (now clearly stated)
“Golden Demon is focused on Citadel Miniatures only - therefore we are unable to accept entries of licensee products.”
2) Duel/Diorama categorisation
“With the exception of the Middle-earth™ Strategy Battle Game category, any entry that fits the definition of the Duel or Diorama categories, should be entered into those respective categories.”

Additional search and filtering functionality has been introduced into Compendium.
Search now provides suggested terms based on matches across titles, tags, awards, and positions, with filtering available for All, awards, artists, entries, events, and tags.
Refined filters enable further narrowing of results based on the search term. Users can apply a date range, select multiple nations and countries, and filter by categories, result, and event type (classic or mini).
If you find Compendium useful, consider supporting the project on Patreon to help cover hosting, storage, and ongoing maintenance, and to keep the archive accessible and up to date.

And some stats!
Golden Demon AdeptiCon returns for its 5th year since coming back to North America, marking the 179th Golden Demon overall.
Nikolas Rubens Mortensen (@nrmpaint ) takes home double Gold.
The “Lukas” squad had a standout event, with 5 Demons going home between the three Lukases: @lukaswiggering , @lukas_miniatures , and @zabaart_
Andy Wardle (@andywardle_artwork ) continues the Diorama streak, claiming a 3rd consecutive Demon in the category.
We also saw 12 new Demon winners place for the first time, while 28 previous winners added another Demon to their tally.
The USA leads the individual Demons leaderboard, with the UK and Spain in second and third. Europe still dominates overall, claiming 30 of the 48 awards and continuing its hold over the event, highlighting just how international the American leg truly is.

I am opening Entry Compendium to the wider hobby community as a SaaS platform on an initial limited-capacity rollout, providing a complete, professional toolkit for running online-only competitions.
All plans include the full Entry Compendium toolkit: secure image hosting, entry management and review tools, data and image export, dedicated judging access, and responsive technical support when needed. Clear, per-entry pricing is published on the website and scales with the size of each event.
Entry Compendium was originally built as a custom solution for the Miniature Painting Open. As MPO grew, the platform evolved through extensive real-world use, thousands of entrants, and tens of thousands of images. This process shaped a system that is both intuitive for participants and powerful for organisers. Entrants can easily submit work, track progress, and monitor deadlines through a clear dashboard, while integrated judging tools allow organisers to focus on delivering a great event without the road block of managing entries at scale.
If you are interested in running your online-only event on Entry Compendium, please get in touch via email or direct message to discuss your plans. In-person event support remains exclusive to the Miniature Painting Open.

Alongside the digital archive, I also collect physical pieces from Golden Demon history. This is part of the 1988 collection.
The 1988 Master Painter T-shirt was awarded to the winners of the regional heats. Each participating regional store had three heat winners, who were then invited to compete in the Grand Final at the Victoria Leisure Centre in Nottingham on 30 July 1988.
The Fantasy Miniatures book features winners from 1987 and 1988 and was published in 1989. It also offers some fascinating insight into the early beginnings of Golden Demon.
I am always looking to expand the physical archive, and if anyone has a 1987 T-shirt or any other Golden Demon memorabilia they would be willing to part with, drop me a message!

The Entry Compendium migration is now complete, and all events, accounts, and entries have been successfully transferred.
If you previously entered: Orktober, Squidmar Open, Critters Challenge, Beyond Your Imagination 2 or the Miniature Painting Open, your account has been migrated. You can regain access by using the password reset link with the email address you originally registered with.
Please note: if you created an account but never submitted an entry, your account was not migrated. In this case, you will need to create a new account.
Key features include
• A detailed user dashboard – manage entries, track status, receive deadline reminders, and view your full submission history, including uploading images for past in-person events where this was not previously possible.
• A comprehensive admin backend – tools for event creation and management, along with full user and entry administration.
• A fully featured judging system – supporting both single and multi-judge workflows, with assignments scoped by category and level.
Originally built to support the Miniature Painting Open, the platform has since been completely rebuilt from the ground up using Python, PostgreSQL, Redis, object storage, and Cloudflare protection. This modern architecture allows the system to scale reliably and efficiently, supporting multiple events running concurrently across both online and in-person formats.
For the time being, only a small number of selected events will be supported as online-only events.
In-person events will remain exclusive to the Miniature Painting Open.
