YEAR 9 GALA DAY - CANCELLED 19/5
We are sorry to inform you that due to this persistent wet weather the GALA DAY scheduled for tomorrow has been cancelled!
This is very disappointing; however we may be able to reschedule on Tuesday of week 5 – Term 3.
More details will be distributed as they come to hand.
As a result of this, it is a normal school day so please be prepared for your normal Tuesday classes.
HOUSE WEEK ROCKS - AND THAT'S A WRAP!
We have all had the BIGGEST and the BEST week during HOUSE WEEK.
Student and Staff engagement has hit an all-new school high!
Our all-girl Pop Punk Band, Vega Saint Vendetta, finished off the week by rocking out to a huge and enthusiastic crowd.

And our boys smashed out a few tunes to some adoring fans.
To back this up - our Senior Leadership Team took to the Quad with their dancing shoes on, doing their best to perfect the Macarena.
It was great to see our students engaged in all of the activities this week. Students and staff connecting with each other and building a sense of belonging.

HOUSE WEEK KARAOKE
Our very own BACKSTREET BOYS took to the stage for our Karaoke Activity in the Auditorium yesterday.
Singing the famous, "I Want It That Way" with plenty of gusto and passion. Definitely a crowd favourite performance.

MOUNTAIN BIKING SQUAD
Good luck to our MTB Squad who are racing at Mt Cotton in the Rocky Trail Academy Series today.
The trails will be challenging with the recent rainfall - there will be plenty of water and mud to tackle on the tracks.
Our team is pumped and ready to SHRED.

"GAP GOLD" - Student Achievements
Congratulations to our School Leader, Sarah Coburn.
Sarah has been selected by the Department of the Premier and Cabinet to attend the Premier's State Budget Student Experience!
The event will take place from 23-24 June at Queensland's Parliament House in Brisbane.
The two-day program will involve behind-the-scenes tours, interactive workshops, and direct observation of the State Budget being delivered in Parliament.
47 students from across 22 Queensland Government State Budget Regions will have the opportunity to gain a practical understanding of economics, fiscal policy making, and the role of media, while meeting the Premier and Ministers.
It will be a fantastic way for Sarah to see how the state budget impacts everyday life in Queensland!
Well done Sarah, we look forward to hearing about your experience.
HOUSE WEEK - DAY 4
Come to the Auditorium at Morning Tea for some Karaoke. Belt out a tune or two of your favourite songs or listen to some of our superstar singers.
AND at Lunchtime the WEETBIX Challenge is ON - come to the Quad for all the action.

FOOTBALL SQUADS
Both our boys and girls Football Squads have kicked off the game series with plenty of energy and determination.
There have been a few tight games, some draws, a few wins and a couple of loses across several of our teams. Although overall, it has been a great start to the series.
Our Open Boys play Kelvin Grove tonight at Kelvin Grove's fields - so come on down and cheer for TGSHS.
Our players and staff have appreciated your support at the games.

HOUSE WEEK FLOWER POWER!
Our students got creative this morning and made their own pretty little bunches of flowers from pipe cleaners.
The activity encouraged them to try different methods of construction, which sparked a lot of chit chat amongst our budding artists!
