2025. I'll miss the pies and the YouTube videos. The slapstick and the heartbreak. I'll miss the angsty teenager who almost destroyed the world and the German president who did. I'll miss the table tennis star imploding his life and Sir Toby Belch, a real jerk who I happen to very much love. I'll miss the sheep I played for a few nights whose spine was from his body untimely ripped. I'll miss them all. I'll miss the writers meetings on Wednesday nights and the late night podcast recordings over zencaster that left me laughing so hard I cried. I'll miss the visit to Montreal, the day trips upstate, the beach days, few and far between. I'll miss all the weddings of old friends and new (and the dancing that followed, good lord, the DANCING) I'll miss watching Murder, She Wrote to fall asleep and the Len Cariou inspired dreams that inevitably followed. I'll miss getting to live in the world of a clown and his partner battling against the hells of the apocalypse only to find their true home in each other. I'll miss making an audio drama where I had an Irish accent that some actual Irish folks described as "passable". This year has been a hard one to be alive but I found so many pockets of joy in the communities that welcomed me with open arms and the ones who had held me all along. In spite of everything, I love my stupid, little life and I wouldn't trade it for anything. I'll miss all that stuff, but not too much. It's all a part of the tapestry now. And I can't wait to see what we weave up next year. See you in 2026.
