I wanted to chat today about some specific things on how not to love it to death! There are so many factors that play into the apparent "death" of a location. A few are Geo-Tagging, overcrowding, and even something as simple as carpooling! Here are a few things I do to help lessen my impact on my surroundings. #dontloveittodeath - First off, I have stopped Geo-Tagging locations. I'll be honest, I used to geo-tag all the places I went a few years back. I think a big part of this is accepting how I used to do things, and now turning it around and being more mindful instead! Part of the adventure is getting out there and finding new places, and your own experiences! Doing a bit of research can go a long way. I typically tag the Indigenous Land that I was on during that time. We must raise awareness about the land we're recreating on and pay respects to it in meaningful ways!  - Carpooling/taking transit is always an amazing idea, especially if there's limited parking. This is being a good neighbour to all the other recreators around you. It's a win-win, less expensive, less of a footprint and you also get to hang out with your peers in the car!  - And last but not least, going to the popular areas during the week, or at off times! The more we lessen our impact, the more we get to see wildlife around us which makes the experience that much more amazing Checkout @dontloveittodeath to learn more about being a good steward of the land :)

Seeing stuff like this is heartbreaking. 💔 Packing out what you pack in should be engraved in your mind! Not only does this leave bears and other wildlife at the mercy of our mistakes, but they will pay the ultimate price - being destroyed. Head over to @dontloveittodeath to get more information about what you can do to help be a good steward of the land you recreate on! And please please please, dispose of your garbage properly! #dontloveittodeath

Wow, well here it is! Our entry that @ian_dunsmore helped me with tremendously for the @wssf Photo Challenge. This slideshow landed us People's Choice Award, meaning the majority of the room filled with around 1000 people voted for our work. Wow, What an honor. I can't thank everyone enough that has shot with me, helped me, worked with me, and bled with me during the past years of growing in the photography world. Super proud of this piece here, let me know what you think 💭

Holy .. still buzzing from the @wssf photo challenge the other night. Can't thank everyone enough for all the support over the years and the love. Pretty cool to see it all come to this! What an honor to take the people's choice award, this means more to me than anyone will ever know :) I'll be posting the slideshow that @ian_dunsmore and I edited for the show in a few days here. I just wanted to get something out there at least to say THANK YOU!!!!! What a pleasure it was to be up on stage with some of the best photogs in the Sea to Sky ❤️ @jessybraidwood @bengirardi @robperry__ @spencerwatson.ca @tyler_ravelle Cheers @chris_corbett_photo & @oisinmchughphoto for the awesome photos :)

Hey everyone! I recently partnered up with @dontloveittodeath to help people get more dialed for the backcountry, and safety in general :) I've gathered a few tips to help you look into my process and what I feel is important in terms of safety :):) 📚 I try to get at least 1 supporting course in a year. This could be anywhere from first aid, to @avalanchecanada courses, to working with a local guide. 🏔️ I highly recommend Avalanche Operations 1, I did this a few years ago, and my confidence increased tenfold, not to mention this is one of the steps to becoming a patroller. ⁉️ Before I go out, I always look at the avalanche forecast for the day in my area. And talk with local friends, read local threads to understand what we're standing on with our skis in terms of snowpack. If you need some resources please reach out :) 🌨️ Knowing your ability ~ this is huge! If you're not comfortable on skis, snowboards in variable conditions, it's probably not a good idea to be wandering into the back country. Try to hone your skills on resort, where you don't put others in risk :) ALSO - Don't Love it to Death is an amazing reminder to be a respectful and mindful adventurer out there! ❤️ That's all I have for now and stoked to continue the discussion here on in the dms :) #dontloveittodeath
