PERSEVERANCE
@roc_1089 & I shot this video back in October around the time that I surpassed a year of training in Jiu Jitsu. Now as blue belt looking back on my journey as a white belt I couldn’t feel more proud of myself for never giving up despite the countless times where I felt that I wasn’t progressing or just downright defeated.
It’s through the adversities that we find out what we are truly made of, not only in our art forms but in our lives.
I’ve grown and learned so much and yet there is still so much to learn and so much to achieve. The journey continues 🏃🏻💨
To any white belts out there (both in Martial Arts & life) who feel so eager to get to the next level, take your time and enjoy the ride, there is truly beauty in the struggle and not knowing what to do next. You may lack the skill but you possess the curiously & drive, find solace in that. OSS

This year, Alex is directing AT EASE, an original musical drawn from their lives and visions for change
At TPP, young people are trusted with their stories, as they turn these into meaningful pieces of theatre that change hearts and minds 🤍

NEW YORK CITY!! it’s showtime!! the 25-26 YJP is excited to announce the premiere of “At Ease” 🫡 at The Sheen Center Feb 11th - 14th TIX LINK IN BIO.
For the past six and a half months, I’ve had the honor of working with these guys, learning their stories, hearing their experiences, and helping equip them with tools to create real change in their lives and in the lives of their peers.
I’ve watched them show up for each other, grow together, and truly come together as a cast to complete their mission.
This show tackles issues that are real and incredibly relevant to what we’re seeing in our country today and I couldn’t be more proud to be a part of it. Come check us out!
One of the main highlights of last month was going on retreat with the Production Team of this year’s Youth Justice Program.
I am so incredibly proud of these guys, they worked their asses off to come up with an outline for a show that represents them and the issues they are facing and what’s more? We had so much fun 😊

Last Friday, I caught up with @zohrankmamdani while he was in Harlem connecting with the community. I got a chance to have a in depth convo with him and express some concerns I had with some of his campaign proposals. What I appreciated most was that his responses were honest and to the point. I also really respected the fact that he came to the hood to connect with folks.
The supporters of other candidates can say that they are doing that as well but.. WHERE DEY AT THO?!? 🤷🏽♂️ showing up counts for a lot in my book.
Guys, this man is the one for us, we always talk about how we are tired we are of old white men making decisions for us and our communities. Now we have a real chance to choose someone who’s young, a person of color and different. Make sure you get out tomorrow and vote for Zohran Mamdani!
