RIP Frankie Rex…a special moment! Frankie formed The FMs with Matte back in 2017 in Brooklyn and it was always a goal of Frankie and Mattes to play on the stage at House of Yes. After Frankie’s passing in 2022 and the reforming of The FMs in 2024, we knew we always wanted to host a Frankie Fest here. If you see an FMs show now, youll hear mostly new songs as it’s hard to do many justice without Frankie. But as a great friend to Frankie and incredible vocalist, Miss Cherry Delight is the perfect artist for it.

Today is the four year anniversary of our bandmate Frankie’s passing. Frankie was such a talented musician and a sweet lovable person. We miss him so much and are proud that we continue to honor him.

…This is one of the most intense and special moments we were gifted with at Frankie Fest. @echothornsideshow , one of the greatest sideshow performers to ever do it, put his life at risk all in the name of remembering Frankie Rex. Outside of intense acts involving fire, aerial chains combined with an upside-down sword swallow is the most dangerous circus sideshow act that exists, and is a signature stunt of Echo’s. Having a trans man pre-transition performing to Frankie’s voice, who was also a trans man pre-transition, was extremely powerful and relevant to what this festival is about. Because the song and music video was released during the pandemic, Frankie never got the chance to sing “Song X” live. Hearing clapping and cheering both for Echo’s death-defying skills and Frankie’s belting high notes at the end of the song gave us chills and brought many of us to tears. I know that Frankie would have been so moved to have witnessed this very special performance. Now that I’ve had some time to rest, I wanted to begin thanking everyone who came out to @houseofyesnyc on Sunday because FRANKIE FEST THIS YEAR WAS NEXT LEVEL INCREDIBLE!!! His memory, voice and spirit filled every corner of the venue for the entire event. ✨🕯️🪩🎶 There were so many performances that made this evening exactly what we were aspiring for, but this clip might be one of the most meaningful, because I manifested this exact moment 1 year ago. Frankie was a @girlinacoma fan and he worshipped @davidbowie . This cover of “As The World Falls Down” from Labyrinth was a song Frankie frequently sang beautifully at the top of his lungs in lockdown. Seeing @ninadiazsolo a doppelgänger of Frankie, (with the same purple hair color he had when he died), so lovingly rocking out on Frankie’s guitar while singing her heart out, meant the absolute world to me on a level no one could truly understand. I sobbed like a baby with my hand over my aching heart. And I continue to every time I watch this clip. Frankie’s guitar was played 3 times through the evening by Nina here, @theguitarjesus of @villinsofficial who was a good friend of Frankie’s, and J-Murder of my band, who produced and recorded Frankie on more than one occasion and loved him. There will be many Thank-You posts with more pictures and videos this upcoming week to the bands, cast and crew as we approach the 4th anniversary of Frankie’s death date on May 11th, but this was the first I wanted to share. It’s the only video I took from Frankie Fest. The closest thing I could get to seeing Frankie sing and play on stage again, in a beautiful performance from Girl In A Coma, who flew all the way from Texas to NYC for this one magical night. This was my dream, and it came true.
