A day in the studio with @joekenneth_ 🎞️ We met by chance at @parquequetzalcoatl and formed a genuine connection in our brief but meaningful encounters. Film developed by @bellowsfilmlab

Model Movement Workshop: Class One - Language of Emotions @8x10movement Still flying high from this incredibly special and fulfilling day 🦢 @y3nya and I worked tirelessly for months shifting through our joint knowledge and figuring out how to marry it and deliver the best of the best. We wanted to create an event that gave models fail-proof and everlasting tools to elevate their performance on set. But it was equally as important to us to make a supportive space to explore the vulnerable parts of being a human and an artist. How can all of us take the emotions that are raw + honest + inescapable and allow that to be the catalyst for forward motion in life? After all, our art is only a representation of ourself. It was liberating to join the fashion/photo/modeling industry with themes that were reminiscent of therapy. The models that walked through my studio door to join us all showed up with the intention to dive deep, learn and grow, and improve their practice as artists. We saw each model come alive through the workshop, and saw our teachings applied through the practice in front of the camera. Fluidity and new knowledge was apparent. What we wanted to teach, we did successfully. Thank you again to all of our beautiful attendees, your energy was a gift! And @garms.shop_ for your styling expertise & @annmariemedinaa for production support! Having said that, we are excited to say we will soon be announcing future workshops for this summer! We likely will be running this specific workshop a few times over, as well as other workshops with a different niche focus to it. Keep an eye out for updates - Xenia and I are hard at work already. We’ve been eager to share this announcement and it’s finally time. I have teamed up with the genius movement director @y3nya @xeniamansourfeed to co-host an incredible course that will be the start of a series of workshops here in Chicago. Our goal with this particular workshop is to teach the physical aspects of what each emotion looks like on the body to help models create a larger and endless flow of posing options for themself. How do feelings like confidence, awe, apathy, bitterness, disgust, and vulnerability materialize on the human body and how can we make all of that look beautiful on camera? We’ll teach exactly that in this class with hands on instruction, guided practice, insightful conversations, and more. The class will end with the opportunity to step in front of my camera and put your new skills to use. Participants will walk away with 2-5 images to add to their portfolio to show off what they have learned. This is for unsigned and signed models alike who are looking for a new perspective on posing, and hope to add new movement to their rolodex. It is great for a new face at an agency, someone looking for representation, or even a seasoned professional who is hoping to find new inspiration to bring to their next shoot. All ages, bodies, and genders welcomed! It’s going to be a playful and insightful day, and we can’t wait to move with all of our students.
