LIGHT OF THE COMMUNITY - Every day, there’s a light in the Lake Life Laser Studio. Owner Charlene Holmes-Sullivan uses her laser engravings to enrich the community of Skaneateles. In the well-connected village, her pieces have become a staple for gift-giving and special occasions via her artistic blending of modern technology and traditional mediums.

EXPANDING HORIZONS - Amanda Hughes puts the finishing touches on Cream & Coffee, her new business in downtown Skaneateles. “They’re my two loves—ice cream and coffee,” she says. The new shop opens next month, bringing Hughes’ vision to a new community.
