Today, I attended a Venture Stack event, with the highlight being, Afrobeat Rebellion. This event highlighted the life and legacy of Fela Anikulapo Kuti.
Beyond music, Fela was a cultural revolutionary who used Afrobeat as a powerful tool for communication, resistance, and social commentary. His work reminds us that Afrobeat and African music at large has always carried depth, structure, and global relevance.
A key takeaway was the strong link between theatre (music and drama) and media. Both exist to communicate, influence, and preserve culture. Art becomes truly impactful when media amplifies its message.
