The Dolls was born in 2022 as a meeting of various transfem* initiatives to form a mutual support network to help fight isolation, perform community care, and support our community.
With the support of Casa Kua, "The Dolls" established itself through tireless and constant self-organized weekly gatherings, creating an open and participative space for anyone identifying within the transfem* spectrum: transsexuals, trans women, travestis, Two-Spirits, hormonal faggots, trannies, gender non-conforming femmes, and many more.
The Dolls became a regular social meetup, welcoming between 20 and 40 people every Sunday since 3 years, and provides a safer space for diverse transfem communities in Berlin.
Our space offers a hang-out space to meet others with similar experiences in the city, and to discuss and drink a warm cup of tea over light gossip; but also a direct system of collective care.
Basing itself on peer-to-peer knowledge, skill, and material resource sharing, The Dolls has become a facilitating space for us to learn and unlearn from each other, creating bonds and standing together with each other in solidarity.
"The Dolls" has facilitated more than 60 peer-to-peer workshops for at least 3000 participants, while simultaneously hosting spaces for discussions and direct solidarity practice as well as making available weekly food, a clothing swap, and a communal IPL machine.
We need to ensure that the space stays available and providing for those who need it most. As such, we have created this fundraiser with the goal of raising the yearly cost of running the space, so that we can continue broaden the reach of our group and recieving and providing support. This way, independent from the broader economic situation, "The Dolls" can remain open for us to keep supporting each other in these challenging times.
Please help us by donating to our campaign and spreading the word. Link in bio.
Some words about The Dolls, how it started (allegedly), how it's going and where the money of the fundraiser will go. The editing was made by your dear friends from @hypersoft__ who published the text on their website and the graphic for instagram by @_.ts0ula_tou_drom0u._ 💕💕💕 A lot more words can, should and will be said since our voices and stories are multiple.
Due to popular demand, our hamam/sauna events will continue on a monthly rythm for spring and summer!
5 hours of collective scrubing and lying down on the hot stone of the hamam, of sweating and heavy breathing in the sauna, of chilling reading eating and gossing everywhere else.
The reduced tickets are for the dolls, bipocs queer, tin folks and our friends. We also have a few gl for bipoc dolls.
At @hamamberlin , Mariannenstrass.6, Hof, Berlin Kreuzberg.
Same link as usual, ask us if it's your first time. If you're curious and tempted but feel shy or insecure, don't hesitate to write us too.

Today, on Trans Visibility Day, I celebrate the power of being seen.🏳️⚧️
As a Black trans woman, visibility is powerful because our lives have historically been pushed to the margins.
Being visible challenges erasure and reminds the world that we deserve safety, dignity, and joy.
Trans visibility means claiming space and affirming our right to exist openly every single day.
Meet me this Sunday 5th April at @casakua from 4-7pm for @thedollsof_berlin BIPOC dolls sunday. I’ll be your host, and I can’t wait to see you there. There will be lots of food , community care and support.

Travesti Fugitive Writings
Friday 27/03 – 19 - 21:00
@frau.diamanda2 is visiting Berlin.
We will gather at @casakua on the 27 of March at 19hs for a night of travesti fugitive writings, shared readings, and conspiracy.
The evening will open with a presentation and conversation around her work, Escenas Catalanas – Sexual Disidencies.
@luzfranciscaq@leamarieu@badgal.marti@ju.azul@ab00vo@caradeceniza and @josiamfemme will then break the ice with their texts, opening the space for others to join. We invite those who wish to share their writings to do so spontaneously.
This is an open gathering for everyone, centering travestis and transfeminine voices— a space to read together, listen, and let words wander through the night in complicity.
Hope to see you all there, and to hear your words in your own voices. ✨
- Frau Diamanda is a Travesti translator, writer, audiovisual artist, drag performer, independent curator, cultural organizer, DJ, and occasional actress. Originally from Peru, she has been based in Barcelona since 2016. She specializes in transgender art and multimedia performance. Her work explores the (dis)encounters between bodies and architectures, and ways of concatenating the fluidity of desire with the sexualization of spaces from a non-heteronormative perspective. Her reflections and critique stem from her own experiences of travesti sexual disobedience, opening new sensations and dialogues through the exploration of alternative sexualities and realities.
