Last Friday, ‘A Want in Her’ won an IFTA.
They cut the middle of the speech out so it was down to 30 seconds - gotta love a good edit.
As Mary Ahern said, ‘always pay attention to how you begin and end things’.
The middle, though, did contain a good number of thanks to the Irish people who made the film possible.
Tadhg O Sullivan, a remarkable filmmaker himself, was the first person to encourage and champion this work. He has continually had my back creatively and professionally - I’m forever grateful to him.
@katmansoor (Irish at heart) and @roisingeraghty - my doc gals for life.
@seanpatrickmullan & @donnagagewade , two professional and gifted souls who brought openness, playfulness and magic to this hazy, drawn-out process of a film.
Niamh Fagan at Screen Ireland, who took a gamble on us.
The Voice during Covid, a special scheme because it gave agency and authority directly to directors, which made it possible for a ‘nobody to make a film about nobodies’ (gotta love my aunt who said this).
@wearebreakout who’ve got this film in front of peoples eyes and often into their hearts (which is all we want at the end of the day).

21 years ago today this beautiful human came into the world. I was in awe then and I still am. He is the most wonderful son a mum could have. Love you to the moon and back. Happy birthday 🎈 💕💕

Can you imagine getting a standing ovation as you say your vows? Well that's exactly what happened at Natalie and Ryan's wedding at the beautiful Ulster Museum.😮
Their wedding was wonderfully unique and quintessentially them! They both got ready at the Titanic Hotel, before a very emotional first look together. Then it was into a very impressive mustang and a quick jaunt across Belfast to the Ulster Museum.❤️
They arrived ahead of their guests, and their guests were equally surprised and excited to see them both before the ceremony. Once all the guests were seated, they took each other hands and walked as one, together, up the aisle. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house. Happy tears! 💕 Just married.
