We 💛 our Summer Students! As we open up for the summer season, we are thrilled to welcome Laura, Margaret and Mya to the team! Our Summer Students are core parts of our museum system, and thanks to them we are able to open our seasonal sites, move artifacts, provide kids programming, revamp visitor experience, organize even the scariest of storage closets, and SO. MUCH. MORE. All during a very busy time of year. We are happy they are here. If you see one of our Summer Students please say hello! ☀️ #princeedwardcounty #thecountymuseums

A snapshot of a day in the life: today we hosted a training for students and volunteers who will be animating Macaulay House this summer (and in some cases, and beyond!). Pictured here we are discussing the significance of the story of Charlotte Le Vesconte, who was Reverend Macaulay’s second wife. Charlotte was 37 when she married Reverend Macaulay in 1853. With her came several changes and updates to the House, influencing how our visitors now experience this historic time capsule! Come and see (and hear about) Charlotte’s influence at Macaulay House, open Wednesday through Sunday, from 10am-4pm at 35 Church Street, Picton. #princeedwardcounty #picton #macaulayhouse

On Friday, May 15th, we will officially be opening all five sites across the County, AND extending our hours to 10am-4pm, Wednesday through Sunday. Come out and visit us! Ameliasburgh Heritage Village will be kicking off opening weekend with its annual "Welcome Weekend" featuring reenactors, live demonstrations, cannon fire and more! Pull into Coleman Street off of County Road 19 and the village is immediately on your right - you can't miss it! Our friendly crew will be ready to welcome you! Macaulay Heritage Park (23 + 35 Church Street, Picton) will be kicking off opening weekend with a first peek at Angela Wiggins' beautiful artwork in the Feature Artist Bay at A Path Forward! We will also have a volunteer animating the House for those who would like a guided tour 🙂 Mariners Park Museum (2065 County Road 13, Milford) will be showing some new changes to the interior as we shift and prepare for new exhibits to come into the space. Before & After: Our museums might be closed, but we are working hard behind the scenes. Pictured here are volunteers Lloyd and Jeff, and the magic they’ve made of the hallway space at Mariners Park Museum. We couldn’t achieve what we have without them! We will be refreshing the hallway space with a new exhibit, with a little help from our friends at @southshorejointinitiative Opening on Friday, May 15th, visitors will soon be able to come in and see our hard work! #MarinersParkMuseum #princeedwardcounty

We are thrilled to share that Angela Wiggins will be displaying artwork at "A Path Forward" as our Featured Artist starting the May long weekend! During her time as the 'A Path Forward Featured Artist', visitors will have the opportunity to see unique artwork that is not typically on display at our site. Come see the wonderful pieces Angela has curated for the Featured Artist Bay! Angela will only be with us for a short amount of time- be sure to stop in during our open hours, Wednesday through Sunday, 10am-4pm. A Path Forward is located in Macaulay Heritage Park at 23 Church Street, Picton. ABOUT ANGELA: Angela Wiggins is a contemporary Anishinaabe visual artist working between symbolic tradition and contemporary abstraction to explore Indigenous continuity, intergenerational memory, and the politics of visibility. Currently living in the Quinte area, Angela is connected to the Wikwemikong First Nation, on Manitoulin Island, Ontario. Working in acrylic, graphite, and mixed media, Wiggins combines symbolic imagery with expressive abstraction to explore the emotional space between ways of knowing. Wiggins’ work bridges traditional Indigenous visual language and contemporary narrative inviting viewers into conversations about resilience, connection, and cultural presence. @angelawigginsart #APathForward #PrinceEdwardCounty
