¡Hola amigos! Chunky Palooza is just around the corner! It is all happening this coming Saturday, May 16th, from 10AM-3PM, at @theartcenterhp located at 1957 Sheridan Rd, in Highland Park, Illinois, 60035! This is a family friendly VEGAN event where we all celebrate veganism with all of our communities! Expect LOTS of delicious food, vegan beauty products, arts and crafts from local vendors! Come experience veganism and what it is all about with us! We'll have good food, music, and lots of art! There is plenty of parking on the surrounding streets to The Art Center and the Public Parking Lot is like a block away so that should not be an issue. If you're using public transportation, the Metra Highland Park stop is 2 blocks away so that should not be an issue either! We really hope to see many, many, many of you there! THIS EVENT IS COMPLETELY FREE TO ATTEND! We only ask that you support all of our hard working vendors! Hola and good morning! 🌞 I would like to take a moment to make a few announcements! 🍞 We stand with immigrants because I am an immigrant myself as owner of The Chunky Scones. Without immigrants and the slavery committed against my African brothers and sisters, this country would not be what it is today. Also, we all stand on indigenous land. Everyone is an immigrant unless you are indigenous and have indigenous DNA native to this land and continent. Having said that, I am aware of the general strike and we support it. We will remain open because we need the income just like any other SMALL BUSINESS out there. There have been so many vegan restaurant closings in the past few months and we would like to ask that if you have the possibility, please do support small businesses like ours and those of my friends like the ones you see me host at the shop or the ones that you see at the vegan events that we go to. The current political and socioeconomic climate isn't helping at all. So if you can, support small businesses over big corporations. There are many ways to help besides protesting. Building community is more relevant today than ever before. We protect each other. 🙏🏾🍞 🍞 Having said all that, this Sunday, February 1st, we'll be at a Mindful Baking Wholesale bakery at 4201 N Ravenswood from 12PM-6PM! There will be lots of food and music! Stop by and let's make @mindfulbaking 's event a complete success!! 🍞 Then, on Saturday, February 7th, come to the bakery to get Chicago's favorite VEGAN SOUL FOOD aka @libbyscorner_chicago from 11AM-3PM or until they sell out! Come early before they do!! Call the bakery if necessary! 🍞 The following weekend, on Sunday, February 8th, find us at @chicagovegantestkitchen at @emporiumchicago I. Logan Square from 12PM-4PM! 🍞After that, on Sunday February 15th, find us in 2 places simultaneously! 1st at my bakery with my charcuterie, sourdough, biscuits, & wine PRIVATE event! Hello friends! 😎🍞 It's been a while since my last actual post but here we are! This whole week should be fun and exciting. We're doing 4 events this weekend alone and we could not be happier to bring all the chunkiness to you to different places. On Saturday, December 14th, find us at @soundgrowler with our friends from @crueltyfreeyouandme for their holiday market. Then, the next day, find us at 3 events! 1st find us at @community_roots_vegan_bazaar in Pilsen for their 1 year celebration 🎉! 2nd, find us at @chicagovegantestkitchen at @emporiumchicago arcade bar in Logan Square for their 8th year celebration 🎉! 3rd, find me in Madison (@devourplantbased 😂,) Wisconsin with my friends @madison.vegan.popup . I'll have all sorts of Chunky baked goods. I'm collaborating with my good friend Tiffany from OG vegan Chicago company @feedyourheadchicago and I'll be bringing some delicious and savory sandwiches and bagels (always using organic flours and grains from my good friends @janiesmill ) to this event! This event: Love, inspiration, community, awareness and so much more!!! This event is not about hype, it's about CHANGE! For the people and for the animals most of all for COMPASSION!
