Hello everyone❤️ It's been awhile again, I know. A couple updates to share is one to our Milwaukee friends, Sunday is the Holiday Vegan Pop-up! Paul and Sharon will be representing the sanctuary and you'll see Becky floating around too! I cannot express how thankful to them all for being there for the babes here💚 And now about sweetheart Frederick, Tuesday morning he didn't do his normal frolic burst up for breakfast and stayed in the shelter. Maybe he wants to have breakfast with Angeline I thought and carried on with the routine of group feeding separation. He got up and waited but was mopey and not himself. When I approached him and looked into those precious eyes, I knew he didn't feel good and got the thermometer to read an alarming high fever. Called the vet and they squeezed a stop over. With not many signs at all I did have a feeling and the ultrasound on his lungs showed pneumonia. Everything else was good with his check up thankfully. So he received a one time strong antibiotic drug for ease and free of multiple injection stress. 30 minutes after she left, Frederick drank water and was up and eating! This special and strong boy I tell ya💖 Good news is, fever is under control with the help of a fever reducer and ever since he is brighter and doing all things he should and even showing some spunk tonight🥰 So with that said, come out if you can and meet the OTT posse that I cannot put into words what their time spent at these events means. Everything purchased and donated goes right to the animals for the current vet care and what we go through so much extra doing these winter days, hay and straw loads. Thanks for taking the time for a little long read and thank you so extra big to all the surprise donations coming in. We see you, and I thank you. He sure is striking, isn't he? Most first words from people meeting Enzo are wow is he ever cool looking, that he is..he's a gorgeous Lineback. Who he is? Well, that's even more brilliant and vibrant. He is head of the herd and everyone knows it but he will allow Odin to walk him softly across the pasture backwards in sweet play head to head. He stands still and close side by side with Vetter often, because bonds are unbreakable. He asks Angeline to bathe his face and neck by bowing his head quietly in front of her and in return, does the same for her. He melts with scratches and rubs along his body and if you stop too soon, he bops his head against you asking for more but in his gentle ways that actually could knock you over if not paying attention because he's definitely a big boy.😉 He loves apples, only whole never sliced. He is full of shenanigans and keeps me on my toes in his demo renovation ways while looking back at me oh so innocently. His only purpose is simply to just be who he is. He is love, he is perfectly naughty with spunk, he is so sweet and his heart shines through us all. Enzo is such a precious individual to have watched grow, to know, to care for and so much more. 5 years ago today we looked into these mesmerizing eyes of innocence, little 3 month old Vetter. The windows to her soul, her emotion and still seen so vividly, all the memories and firsts as they rush through like it was yesterday. What a ride you started love, this symphony of deserving heartbeats, you special precious girl. In the words spoken from so many people that have met her..."that look, she's beautiful...she's bad ass". Ya damn right she is. 💚 She shines, she is family, she is my fuse when I lose my power. She is sassy, loud and proud, she is someone. ❤️🌈Arnie🌈❤️ 3 years and 4 months ago we met Arnie and Red. A trailer ride with a mini horse on one side and a 15 year old pot belly on the other. Arnie came in like a boss with his strut, grumble and all. What a character he was. Being the old man he was, really all we wanted for him in sanctuary was to enjoy the summer, mud, naps in the sun and the pure joy that any pig gets, spend all the time needed to get a pile of straw and blanket jusssst right. And you knew when Arnie was comfortable and asleep, you could hear him snoring up at the house! Arnie became part of a herd here, his first pig family. That day was something else to be a part of and I remember it like yesterday. He was very independent, didn't care to be bothered even though there was this girl named Glimmer following him around with distance tail wagging and waiting to be his friend most of every day. Arnie loved sleeping in mud all day snoring, he even tried the kid pools but that just never worked out for him well😉 One more mud loving summer of life turned into 3, One more winter of piles of blankets and a mound of straw turned into 3 and the magic of Arnie and Glimmer's friendship was the best of end of life years for them both. After the loss of his best friend, Arnie grew more tired, more sore but kept that perfect Old Man attitude spunk. His last week was peaceful, was restful and was comfortable. In the last part of that week he wasn't thirsty or hungry anymore, he just wanted to sleep all day. I knew, and thats when all our talks began, memories and goodbye began. That morning, Hickory and Betty were so close to him, spooning their backs against him. Glimmer came and got him sometime through the night and he was surrounded with family that knew and said goodbye. Arnie, dear friend Arnie. What a precious time we had but now, you and Glimmer have serious pig business to tend to. Rooting, mud bathing, bickering because Glimmer takes too long to get comfortable and taking struts with wagging tails side by side. It's so quiet without you here, but beautifully quiet. I love you Arnie, I miss you but what a long life of 18 years and what a treasure it is to have spent those last 3 with you❤

It's been awhile and I'll catch up soon. As for today its a very big Happy 4th Birthday to an extremely precious and special boy, Odin. A dear friend, a dairy survivor and just simply, a joyful love who gives the best hugs. Watching him grow these years is heart overflow.
