WE HAVE DECIDED TO REINSTATE OUR BAG CHECK POLICY. WE ARE A SOBER SPACE.
4 weeks ago we made the decision to instate a no touch bag check policy, in order to maintain the integrity of our sober space. After instating this policy we've received positive feedback at shows, and positive effects on the environment of our space. Due to these effects we've decided to reinstate our bag check policy for the indefinite future. Thank you for your continued support in maintaining the Che Café as a sober space since the 90s.
Section of our brave space policy regarding sober space: This means there is no smoking or vaping any substance, drinking alcohol, or other drug consumption allowed on the premises. (Note: this is a university campus rule as well as our own). Volunteers will tell you to stop or leave if you are violating the sober space, and you should feel comfortable to ask a volunteer to ask others to stop if you witness drug use on the premises.
If you have concerns or questions you can always come to our Monday General meetings at 7PM in person or on zoom(link in bio), dm us on instagram, or email us at [email protected]

We’ll see you soon :)
Join the Che Cafe’s Education Subcollective on Thursday, May 14th at 7 pm for a free screening of the award-winning documentary, American Dream. For this movie, the filmmaker and her team completely immersed themselves in the lives of striking meatpacking workers fighting for better pay and working conditions. Their walkout lasted almost a year, in defiance not only of their company but also the timid United Food and Commercial Workers International Union. Happening just after May Day, this screening will be a great way to commemorate the history of the American labor movement and reflect on its past, current, and future directions. The screening will be followed by a discussion of the movie, and free vegan snacks and drinks will be provided. Hope to see you there!
