I’ve been working and reworking a song I wrote for my friend @emilymure called “lost time”. Its a snapshot of her long, difficult experience living through long covid over the last few years. As a friend I really saw firsthand how patient and caring Emily had to be with herself throughout a ton of physical pain and emotional uncertainty. It was very fucking scary but also incredibly inspiring. I remember this one reoccurring experience she would tell me about - pacing through her house in the middle of the night, for hours, not being able to feel her body and losing all sense of time and space. She told me it felt like she was “living a lifetime in the blink of an eye”. When I wrote this tune, I sang it over the phone to her and we cried and cried. “I promise not to cry if you promise not to cry”. I asked her before posting this today if she wanted me to tell her story; and she said she wants the folks who are still suffering from long covid to feel supported- and to keep the conversation going. It’s 3:10 in the morning and I can’t sleep. Thinking about you know what. I was supposed to play at the Owl in a few days but that’s cancelled cuz of you know what. Sometimes when I’m worried or uptight I play all the songs with the most spirited choruses I know. I landed on a tune I wrote a while back called “shoelaces”. Hope it cheers you up a lil if you need it. Takes a minute to get to the chorus tho:)

Last night of tour with @jontitterington tonight in Portland. It’s been around 3 and a half weeks of playing these songs from Responsible Friend with our fave musicians across the country. Everywhere we went we had friends sitting in and elevating the music and the over all reception to the shows has been so wonderful and cathartic. Thanks to everyone who took care of us along the way, we love you. Can’t wait to do it again. Here’s me warming up for our show tonight at a gas station a few minutes ago.

Zack and I have some very special guests sitting in with us @clubpassim on May 21st for what I like to call “an Elizabeth and the Catapult Bostonian revue, the Zachariah Hickman and Friends edition”! @richhinman will be playing guitar! @jaaaaaacqui will play violin ! @jontitterington will play keys and I even get to have @dintychild sing a duet with me - doesn’t get better than that. Jon appreciation post. I’m very very lucky to be touring with my love this month- he’s one of the coolest, most generous, talented, hilarious people I’ve had the privelage of knowing and it’s been VERY FUN touring this record with him. He’s opening our @thehotelcafe show in LA THIS FRIDAY April 24th in one of the last shows in the soon to be old space and we have some old friends (and total badasses) playing with us @danielrhine@drichardbailey@bthetrain@justinglasco@beth_thornley LA/Ojai/SF right after - tix in bio!
