Mekayla is a mixed (Colombian/white) queer woman from the unceded Payómkawichum land, also known as North County San Diego. Her dedication to collective liberation is what grounds her work and how she navigates the world. Mekayla pours much of her time into her organization @reimaginingourfuturesd which facilitates mutual aid exchanges (aka ‘free stores’), educational discussions and teach-ins, as well as social and art related events. MANY MANY GIRLS are touring through San Diego from New York City, and will be supported by Joe Cantrell and the Les Tirs Trio (Nick Bernal, Sean Jones, Matty Terrones) at the Brown Building on March 19th. This Monday!!! We have a lil last minute show put together by @gianinabianca_ at The Brown Building. Join us for a night of incredible music from some world-class local and touring DJs.

We’ll be at the Good Faith Holiday Market this upcoming Thursday! I’ll have a variety of zines, books, plants, clothing and more available for some last minute shopping. It’s also a great opportunity to connect with us directly about volunteer opportunities, booking the space, or helping us out with a one time or ongoing donation. Quartyard is located at 1301 Market Street in Downtown San Diego. This venue is outdoors and wheelchair accessible but parking is often limited. Please dress warmly!

Announcing: Open Studio on Wednesdays! Have a project that you need to work on? Want to just come by and sketch with some friends? Need to print out that new résumé, or just want to hang out and work somewhere that isn’t your home or the same café? Come by The Brown Building on Wednesday, December 7th for our very first Open Studio day! 🎨🧑🏽‍🎨🖌 We’ve got plenty of tables and chairs as well as easels, tarps, a desktop computer, fast wifi, printer, sewing machine, a screen printing press, photography backdrops, and more. We also have a variety of drinks (including hot tea and coffee) and snacks if you get a little parched while working. Are you coming to our Open Studio??
