Progress on site makes me so happy!
Today the sun was shining, the bathroom tiles were being finished, and I thought I’d film a sneaky peek walk through of the progress at Camellia Cottage 🌺 ✨
Next week our joinery goes in, and these spaces are going to feel incredible!

What a treat to be able to see the incredible progress at Mount Eliza @theblock this week. Stakes are high, and there was good vibes in every home we walked into. These contestants have poured their heart and soul into creating beautiful, seaside homes. Such a privilege to be able to cast our votes for the @domain.com.au challenge.
Primary suites and kitchens were a particular highlight with stunning use of stone and materials. The ones that stood out to me had cohesion throughout their finishes and flowed seamlessly through the home.
Special shoutout to @foundit_with_jeanne@the.invisible.architect it was so wonderful meeting and connecting with you both. 💕 plus loved showing Stella girl her first ever home open @lucinda.maay 😍 and thanks for making it possible @martyfox01 🙏
Can’t wait to see these homes finished! #theblock
Throwback to our Jessie Street Joint Venture project with a bunch of amazing @buildhercollective ladies 👯♀️
Coming away from the recent Weekend Intensive had me nostalgic for what we created in our last JV and pondering what our next project might look like.
Proud of this gorgeous home with sensational interiors by the @buildhercollective team, and lovingly built by @rubiks__cubed 😍
Given my love of green, our facade of @duluxaus Manifest is a fave and helped us stand out in the area! I loved the facade we created with @jameshardieau with @obioffice vision!
Where should we do our next JV? 🤔

✨ Another incredible weekend with the @buildhercollective crew 🫶 I always come away with my cup so full from these weekends, and extremely grateful for our community.
Some key takeaways from the weekend for me
🌸 you can design to any budget - don’t let your ego takeover
🌸 know your structures so you can leverage in alternative ways
🌸 respect the red lights that show up in life
🌸 resilience isn’t toughness - there’s nuance to things we face and how we come through it
🌸 leverage debt differently to get into the next project
🌸 JVs can still be a fun and interesting way to collaborate with others with the same mindset
🌸 whilst people are fearful there’s still opportunity in renovations
🌸 keep running the numbers!
And most all I took away how willing this community is to help and support each other. 🙏
Super fun to get to throw together an impromptu JV to pitch to a room of 70 DevelopHers! Thanks @hemma.jord for bringing your brain and expertise!
Incredible lineup of speakers including

POV: It’s raining… and you’re standing inside your new extension completely dry for the first time. 🌧️
Last night was one of those build moments you don’t forget.
The roof is officially on — both the original cottage and the new extension — and suddenly the whole site feels different! More solid. More real.
We’ve gone from breaking ground to full structure in what feels like record time, and that doesn’t happen by accident.
Massive credit to @three_eightbuilding_group for the pace and craftsmanship, and to Next Elevation for delivering such a seamless roof construction. It’s been incredible watching it all come together.
And a special shout out to our site manager & lead builder Mick — the communication, the organisation, the way he runs the site… it makes such a difference. What an enjoyable process!
Standing inside while the rain fell outside and realising, “This is our home now”… that’s one of those core memory moments in a build.
Still so much to come. But this one felt like a moment worth sharing.

A new chapter is coming to Camellia 🤍
This full renovation and extension of a 1930’s cottage is where timeless character meets thoughtful, modern living. The charm will be preserved, the details enhanced, and the space has been fully reimagined to create a home that feels both nostalgic and brand new.
From the front facade to the final finishes, nothing will be overlooked ✨
Stay tuned… this is going to be something special.

One Roof Almost Done, Another Loading 🚧
The roof on the existing cottage is now complete — giving that part of the home a sense of enclosure and protection again.
Meanwhile, the extension is moving steadily through its structural milestones.
✅ Framing: done
✅ Trusses: up
⚒️Steel: going in this week
This next stage sets us up to install the roof over the new section, bringing the whole form of the house together for the first time and finally realising our vision for this cottage.
From the outside, it might look like a lot of timber and scaff, but this is the part where everything starts to lock into place.
🌺 More soon from Camellia Cottage!

Bathrooms that feel like an exhale - tranquil, thoughtfully finished, and grounded in their surroundings.
Fontayne was a coastal home nestled in nature - lorikeets chirping in the backyard, soft light through the trees, and a quiet sense of space all around us. We wanted the bathrooms to feel like an extension of that.
Tranquil. Warm. Finished with materials that would last.
The American Oak vanities, made by Killer Kreations, brought natural texture and softness. They also crafted our custom doors - I felt like these gave the home so much warmth.
Tapware throughout was supplied by Swan Plumbing, with Nero’s Mecca range a favourite — brushed gold, cross-style handles, and just the right balance of style and function.
These spaces came together with the help of a brilliant team:

We’d use every one of these finishes again. If you’re planning a renovation and want to know how something’s held up, or where we sourced it I’m happy to share.
