When I was little I searched the TV Guide every single week to see if Surf Ninjas would be on TV. I loved it! A Filipino-American leading a martial arts action movie! One of the first movies that sparked my interest in martial arts!
At @fanexpocleveland this weekend, my first time at a big fan/comic convention, me and @sammiegrams were randomly walking the through the autograph section in the downtime before the session I was co-presenting, fully not expecting to stand in any lines, and I see that @erniereyesjr was there! I jumped at the chance to meet him. He was humble, kind, gracious, and suspected that I too was Filipino lol. He and Melissa were great and were truly there for the fans.
