Yesterday we recorded “A Book of Forgotten Creatures” with @imaniwinds@john.delancie the Curtis Symphony Orchestra and #OsmoVänskä conducting as the concert at the Kimmel Center was canceled due to the blizzard. I am grateful for the immense privilege to work with musicians and an actor of this caliber and for the incredible welcome I received at my alma mater where I learned so much.
This piece was planned for before the pandemic, now finally realized. Bravi tutti—it’s going to be an amazing recording!
(The last frame is the Curtis cello section, each of whom chose an animal from the piece… I joined as the saber-tooth cat, of course…)
What a week!
We had a blast recording the premiere of @davidludwigmusic ’s concerto “A Book Of Forgotten Creatures” with the @curtisinstitute Symphony under the great @osmovanskaluverz . Unfortunately the storm prevented us from bringing it to you live at the Kimmel Center, but we recorded and filmed it and can’t wait for you to hear it!
It was also an immense honor to open the Plenary @sphinxorg Connect along with our dear friend @michelleacann . We loved every minute of it and encourage all to attend and support this wonderful organization that is so dear to our hearts.
