The Roaring Girl by Thomas Dekker and Thomas Middleton is a shockingly contemporary but rarely produced 1611 play that takes a raucous, mischievous look at gender, counterculture, generational tensions, and the lengths we go to for the ones we love.
Theatre Prometheus is casting for a production of The Roaring Girl by Thomas Dekker and Thomas Middleton, adapted and directed by Sophia Menconi and Sarah Marie Wilson. This is a paid project. All actors will receive a $500 stipend.
Please prepare a 60-90 second comedic monologue. While the play is a classical text, written in heightened language, audition piece need not be. We are looking for actors with a strong sense of comedic timing! Please submit your self-tape and materials at the link in our bio by Sunday, February 1.

SUMMARY
Sebastian has a problem. He's in love with Mary but his father won't agree to their marriage. In desperation he turns to the one person who can help him: the fearless and feisty cross-dressing thief Moll Cutpurse.
This shockingly contemporary but rarely produced 1611 play takes a raucous, mischievous look at gender, counterculture, generational tensions, and the lengths we go to for the ones we love.

Jean/ne is a trans examination of Joan of Arcâs final night before execution. Written by Prometheus Director of New Works Mari Fluegeman, directed by Robin Berl, who Prometheus audience may know as the director of 2024âs World Premiere of Dua: The Monsterâs Story.
