We can't do this without you. Thank you.
And that’s a wrap.
We want to take a moment to reflect on such a successful run of the world premiere of Cake Eaters by Rebecca Dzida. We sold out shows (even bringing more chairs in to fit more people), received beautiful reviews, got Helen Hayes Recommended (#HelenHayesRecommended), and spilled a LOT of blood. 😂
We couldn’t have done any of this without our amazing cast, crew, donors, and of course you all who came to the show and laughed, gasped, and allowed us to share your afternoon or evening. From the bottom of our hearts: Thank you.
We’re taking a much needed break, but keep your eye on this page for even more exciting news coming soon.
With love, cake, and blood,

The Welders company member, Taylor Payne, braves the snow storm to tell you that we’ve just received a 1-to-1 matching gift challenge from a generous anonymous supporter from now through opening night on February 7, every dollar you give will be matched, up to $1,000.
That means: • $25 becomes $50 • $50 becomes $100 • $100 becomes $200
If the snow has slowed your day, consider turning that pause into progress for live theater. This match gives us a rare chance to accelerate that momentum in a very real way. Can we count on your $10 donation? Follow the link in our bio or by going to /the-welders-playwrights-collective ❄️🔥
Cast member Alex Aspiazu (@alexaspiazuart ) describes stepping into the world of Cake Eaters on this Throwback Thursday from our second virtual rehearsal. “[Cake Eaters] is not feeding somebody a morality tale; it’s saying ‘Let me show you something messy, and you can decide how you feel.’ And, I just have been so psyched to be a part of that”says Alex.
This play lives in the tension. In the performance of authority. In what Alex so perfectly calls “The theatrical nature of power.”
Who holds it. Who performs it. And what happens when the script starts to slip.
We’ve been so psyched to have Alex and all of the cast and crew in the room and on this journey with us. 🖤🎂
