The most capable assistant in the room can still be the least useful one if they are not aligned with where their executive is headed.
Alignment is not a soft concept. It is the difference between support that moves things forward and support that simply keeps things moving. One is strategic. The other is functional. Both have their place, but only one builds the kind of trust that expands your role over time.
Session 1 of the Executive Support Programme, Stream 11, facilitated by @theaniezekiel , opened with exactly this question: do you actually understand the world your executive is operating in? Not the tasks. The direction. The stakes. The vision sitting behind everything they are asking you to do.
That understanding is where real executive support begins.
Happy Birthday to our Founder @theaniezekiel , whose vision, leadership, and dedication continue to shape lives and drive meaningful impact through MHCI.
Today, we celebrate not only your achievements, but the excellence, wisdom, and purpose you bring to everything you do. We pray for continued grace, strength, good health, and greater fulfilment in the year ahead.
Thank you for your leadership and lasting impact.
Happy Birthday from all of us at MHCI.
The best executive support professionals don’t just complete tasks. They understand who they’re working for and why it matters.
Stream 11 of the ES Programme is officially underway, and with @theaniezekiel leading the way, participants are diving straight into what it means to move from task execution to true strategic partnership — learning to identify and respond to an executive’s underlying needs, and getting introduced to the SCOUTED framework that will shape the rest of the programme.
This is where it begins.
Most executives have had assistants who were capable on paper but never quite got it. They completed the tasks but never really engaged with the work. And over time, that gap, between someone who executes and someone who thinks with you, creates more friction than it relieves.
@theaniezekiel has sat on both sides of that reality. As Founder of @mhciuniverse and the mind behind the ES Programme, he has experienced what support looks like when it falls short, and what it looks like when it does not. At our AMA session, he will be speaking to what co-creative support actually enables at the leadership level, and why the way assistants are trained is at the centre of the problem.
This is the perspective the entire session is anchored around.

JANUARY READS
A bit late, but better late than never. 1. Finding Me by Malala Yousafzai-This came at exactly the right time in my life. A reminder that finding yourself is not a linear process. 2. By @theaniezekiel love encountering people who are genuinely passionate about change. This is a must-read for anyone committed to transforming their communities, particularly within the African context. 3. Research papers (yes, really!), I never thought I’d become the “reading research papers for fun” type, but here we are. Given my interest in the influencing industry, this was absolutely fascinating. 4. @kanmi.ad , I always look forward to his words. Thought-provoking reads that invite you to examine your heart posture. 5. A timely cultural critique- In a world where matcha is the new aesthetic, pilates the latest trend, and a Lululemon set the new standard, this read definitely provokes some necessary soul-searching about why we do what we do.
