It’s my turn on the @lovebookstours tour for this beautiful audiobook! Thank you so much for this gifted copy, it truly was brilliant! What a unique and wonderfully beautiful story this was. I listened to the audiobook and the narration was perfect. I loved the emotion, drama and feelings the narration conveyed. It really gave you a sense of being there with the characters, seeing things through their eyes. The story itself is truly brilliant, how two such different characters are portrayed, brought together and given their time to shine. I really liked the way Shawn’s character was brought to life, how his autism wasn’t shown as a condition, but as a part of who he was, something to be embraced and his accomplishments celebrated. He brought humour to the story and clearly cared so deeply for those around him. Violet was also a very interesting character. I initially wasn’t sure of her but as you get to know her better you truly understand her life, why she is where she is and see the person she is underneath all that. Shawn’s Grandma and brother are also wonderfully written characters. The whole book just oozes with the care and compassion each character has for one another. So this one has it all, brilliantly written characters, a unique plot, lots of different emotions and above all the sense of community between the main characters. Sometimes it can be hard to find an audiobook where not only is the story fantastic but the narrator really delivers it beautifully, this book really hits the mark! #Ad #LBTCrew #Bookstagram #FreeBookReview

I loved the audiobook version of The Sound of Violet just as much as I loved the physical version of it! The narrator, Ryan Duncan, really brought Allen Wolf’s story to life, a story I could read a million times. Shawn’s and Violet’s love story is sweet, heartbreaking but also heartwarming, complicated and yet so simple at the same time. It’s a messy and beautiful love story, and I love it! His meeting with Violet had so many funny and heartfelt moments, and I found myself completely invested in how their relationship developed. Humorous, poignant, and incredibly readable/listenable. The story follows the two main characters, Shawn and Violet, who are very different from each other in their lifestyles, personalities and also their viewpoint on love. Shawn is determined to find a relationship which matters and which will lead to a happy, supportive marriage. The problem is that Shawn is near diverse and finds it hard too get a clear picture of people and their intentions, struggling to pick up on people’s body language, tone or other subtle cues. He takes people at their word and trusts those around them to be what they present themself as. At times this means that people don’t really understand him and Shawn can end up being quite isolated by his peers without him really understanding why. During a work event Shawn meets Violet and forms an instant connection with her. He finds her genuine and open and he doesn’t pick up on the subtle hints that Violet maybe isn’t what he thinks she is. Violet is stuck in the harsh and unkind reality of her world. Preyed upon and harmed by those who are meant to look after her. She is disillusioned with love and relationships and untrusting of people, having had her trust mis-used in the past. She tries to distance Shawn from her and to protect him from the world she lives in but finds herself drawn back to Shawn and his open, honest ways. There were parts of this story where I found the characters actions hard to understand, but I think this is part of the story. I haven’t lived either Shawn or Violet’s life and so when I found their choices or actions difficult to accept I made myself stop and reflect on why the characters were acting that way. What was influencing their decisions. This actually made me much more engaged with the story and I really enjoyed watching their relationship develop and both of them learn to trust and rely on someone else. #LBTCrew #Bookstagram #FreeBookReview

I was lucky enough to be sent an arc of this book via audio , Firstly the friendship between sean and violet is beautiful, he is so unlucky in love and he formed a friendship with violet 💜 who he thought was a actress but she is actually a sex worker but has been forced into it by a human trafficking gang Sean is very shy , timid and is the nicest guy you could possibly meet , his grandma isnt very keen on her but that is probably due to him having autism , but violet reads up on it just to try understand it more . Such a great story ❤️ I fell in love with the characters immediately @allen wolf @lbt.crew @lovebooktours @morningstarmedia

Shawn is a young man with autism who is desperate to find a soulmate. He meets Violet and doesn’t realize that she is an escort. The story that follows is equal parts funny and heartwarming. I really enjoyed the spotlight on autism in this book. As a teacher, I had worked with many students with autism and I know that it is so important to have representation in stories. The author did such a good job with the characters in this book. I really found myself feeling for them and rooting for them as the book went on. I also enjoyed the audio book. The narrator did a fantastic job of bringing this story to life. If this sounds interesting to you, I would definitely check it out!! ❓What’s a book that has taken you by surprise lately? Why?

💜May goal- explore outside of my neiche 🤗 💉 When I joined the Sound of Violet ALC tour, I didn't know what to expect. 💉 My thriller/murder/dark academia self was sceptical. But I loved it! My rating:💉💉💉💉 Below are my thoughts as I wrote them down on a piece of paper, immediately after I finished it: "The Rosie project" meets "Pretty Women"- a modern fairytale where love can conquer all evil and lovers can rescue each other.  Though my cynical self struggled at times with the religious mentions, Bible verses and unconditional love; especially in the last couple of chapters; it was hard not to fall in love with Sean and his utter devotion to the idea of marriage and love. I found myself rooting for him even through the (somewhat unrealistic) ending.
