The lovely Nox Stormweaver is going to be taking charge of some events on their own, as they slowly transition into becoming a larger part of the company. Hi, I'm Storm! The Storm's Eye is my life's work and purpose, and it has been a privilege to pour my whole heart into it. This journey has been a lifetime of trial, error, and self-liberation, and now I stand before you as my full, authentic self. When I was five years old, my practice truly began. I invited the fae into my home on Midsummer, and I’ve been delighted by their mischief ever since. I unfortunately grew up in a very Evangelical household, but despite that, my mom taught me about crystals, tarot, playing-card cartomancy, and spirit work. Her approach was always wonderfully chaotic, and over time I’ve woven those teachings together with my own. Aphrodite, the Morrígan, and Loki are all deeply present in my practice, as are my Celtic, Italian, and Roma ancestors. I’ve been digging into my roots to learn the folk practices tied to those lineages, and it has made my craft profoundly grounding and fulfilling. I’m especially invested in reconnecting with my Romani heritage, and have been deeply committed to learning from and honoring that part of my culture. I have a background in a wide range of fields that I now bring into The Storm's Eye- including grassroots organizing, an herbalism apprenticeship, a botany degree program, novel writing, 6+ years of small-business management across multiple industries, K–12 education, and more! This unique blend of experience has given me the tools to build a business that feels true to me, while still centering direct community care. So if you’re still reading this, thank you. Thank you to everyone who showed up to yesterday's New Moon ritual! For those curious about the astrology of this new moon, as well as what went down during Nox, who is significantly better at astrology than I, has written a bit below about what went down last night: "Last night, the new moon was in Taurus, and this was the first new moon in Taurus not disrupted by Uranus since 2019. Uranus, the great disruptor of the stars, has transitioned out of Taurus and into Gemini only a few days prior to the new moon. This leaves the energies ruled by Taurus free to thrive again for the first time in 7 years. Taurus rules over wealth, finance, and abundance. It is the sign of steadfast growth towards prosperity. Many people have struggled through financial hardship since 2019, but things are starting to shift. Now that we are no longer burdened by the stars themselves in that regard, w etook this time to acknowledge how that financial block was manifesting for them and so they could cleanse it from themselves. I walked everyone through a meditation where we rooted ourselves in golden light of joy and prosperity, and allowed those roots to reach out and entangle the roots of our neighbors in the circle. I've been feeling quite nostalgic lately. This picture of me was taken in summer 2020, while walking through Chanticleer Garden. This Storm had no idea what was to come. They hadn't even moved to Colorado yet. This was a year before they met Sky, and 4 years before moving to Chicago. The Storm's Eye was only a distant dream, and something that ended up being paused when more self-discovery was needed. Despite getting my numerology chart done years ago and it lining up perfectly with where I am today, I still didn't believe I'd make it this far. My heart is full, and this new moon, I will be reveling in the deep gratitude I have for all those who are following on this journey. Thank you, truly 💕

It's almost Friday, which means I'll be back at Loaves & Witches! Custom spell oil commissions are OPEN!! As I slowly get my apothecary together (amongst other things), I'm opening up commissions for my custom oils. You might be aware that I have my Aphrodite and Loki oils, which can be great in a pinch. However, if you are looking for something specific, I can make something that works directly with your energy and intention. My oils are also sensitive skin friendly, and I work with you to make sure that I'm not upsetting any allergies or using scents you don't like. This past full moon I got to do a lovely custom oil duo, and they seem to be working exactly as they need to. (Client gave permission to post review) If you're interested in getting your own custom oil, message me directly! They are $25 per 15ml dropper, and I put a lot of heart into them 🥰 Currently, I'm doing local pickup in various locations around Chicago, but there is the option to pay for shipping if you are from a little farther away.

A little piece of today's Cup Collective meeting: Today we switched it up a bit! Instead of me bringing a spread to the table, we made our own! Today's challenge was to build a spread based on a flower (or any plant, really). It was so fun to see what everyone came up with!!! There was everything from daffodils to tulips, to a mycelium system! Thank you to those who showed up today!! Also, a reminder that there will be NO meeting in June. I'll see you in July though! All tarot workshops (at libraries) and Cup Collective meetings are 100% free for the community as part of The Storm's Eye's mission to make learning tarot accessible! OuroHermetica @ourohermetica Rebecca is the artist and maker behind OuroHermetica, a multidisciplinary studio creating handmade ritual goods inspired by symbolism, transformation and the natural world. Working across fragrance, stained glass, and functional art, her practice blends herbalism, spirituality, and intentional craft into objects designed to bring beauty, reflection, and a sense of connection into everyday life. Rooted in the symbolism of the Ouroboros, OuroHermetica explores cycles, renewal, and the magic of being human through scent, light, and ritual. Storm and Nox host and vend at variety of events around Chicago and beyond, bringing joy and that feeling of being in the eye of the storm.
