SAVANT is a Durham based DJ and co curator of Sonic Essence whose sound is shaped by their east side Detroit roots, Detroit techno, and the city’s legacy of pushing dance music forward. Known for electrifying genre bending and bass driven sets, they build hypnotic club soundscapes rooted in futuristic and melodic bass club music. Their approach to DJing pulls from four-on-the-floor, warped vocal textures, and fast-paced electronic energy that keeps the dance floor moving between intensity and sensuality. Rocking Durham dance floors since 2018, they have shared lineups and opened for Juan Atkins and BlackMoonChild of Detroit, Conducta (UK), and alongside some of North Carolina’s finest heavy hitters including Chaos Control, Chainletter, and Oak City Slums.
