The two jigheads worth the money and your time IMO.

1. Deathgrip Jig head 2/0 (Push on style)- great for any application especially for Midstrolling. Made by @captlanesghostminnows and now produced by @cajun_lures
.
2. Texas Custom Lures Jay Watkins Series 2/0 (screw lock) - great for grass or structure. Sloped style allows bait to fall forward and adds action to rat tail baits.

I know there are a million jig heads on the market but these 2 are worth the money.

Today was a great day! Here’s why, because God works in wonderful ways!
.
One of my oldest friends(@cmitch3 )from when I moved to Texas back in 2013 had the day off to go fishing, so we went.
.
He and his wife welcomed their first child in January which means my old friend has been busy being a dad and supportive husband. Even though we talk regularly we rarely share a boat together.
.
Last year we made a few trips together and he was sold on learning to midstroll. Fast forward to today.
.
I almost talked myself out of where we wanted to start but Colton reassured me that it was the right move.
.
Lo and behold, 30 mins after we park he’s Midstrolling an XPS Rockn Shad and goes tight. After a lengthy fight, he goes to land the fish and it bolts through his net.
.
After seeing his distress, I darn near sprint over and net his fish which just so happens to weigh 9.3 the same weight his son was on the day he was born.
.
I’m proud for my friend and I’m over the moon for his success. Good stuff happens to good people and today was one of those days!
.
Ain’t nothing like making memories!

18 years of Holy Matrimony!

Decided to opt of going out to eat and instead cook and enjoy a meal together.
.
Serenaded by 90’s country, we constructed a delicious Lasagna, fennel and Orange salad with a side of broccolini. For desert, some French press coffee and cheesecake.

Here’s a layout of what’s been working for me lately!

In between solo trips, I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing and learning from some extremely good anglers like @brookskelm@liamqureshi@reddawnoutdoors and of course @texas_saltwater_cowboy . Thank you guys for teaching me and letting me tag along. Words can’t express how much I appreciate it.
.
In full transparency, I’ve lost a number of big fish lately. When that happens, I find it tough to get out of my own way and just fish free. You start second guessing your gear, your technique and then your mindset. It’s all good though because at the end of the day it’s just fishing and fishing is supposed to be fun.
.
