Solid fish from a recent trip with Chris Bush joining me, Finding a pattern for my bigger fish has been difficult for me. When Chris and I went out we noticed a series of slicks early in the morning. Chris pointed out another slick while running south and we decided to fish it. Within 10 minutes I was able to stick this fish and lost a bigger one. This is a lesson everyone must remember. Every day is different, open your eyes and fish in the now, not the past! This fish fell victim to a Texas custom corky Pearl Harbor floater

This was one of the many big fish we caught prefishing for saltwater legends series. sat in 5th place on day one in a great spot and ended up falling short on day two.
Had a Great time fishing the Saltwater Legends Series! Fishing against the best of the best always gets our blood pumping. These fish were extremely difficult to get bites from. We either had to do finesse fishing or try to trigger reaction bites. The @6thsensesaltwater party paddle was great at triggering reaction bites while prefishing. During the tournament the @coastalbrewbaits dart was able to give the right amount of finesse for these shallow fish. Fell one trout short on day two to give us a big jump on the leader board. Every day the fish moved hundreds of yards and made it extremely difficult to target and pattern. thankfully we were able to win big red at 9.28 and had another red on day 1 that was 10.4 pounds and less than 1/16 over 28 inches. Thank you to @foreverlastinc for providing the gear we need to land these fish including the amazing big nets and fish bags they are a game changer. I’m extremely proud of my team for the amount of grit we showed for this tournament. We didn’t enter until the last 20 minutes of registration we were that unsure about entering as we had problems getting our fish to eat. Huge shout out to @cranecustoms.llc & @htex9210 helping sponsor us and supporting our team and big thank you to @capt_chad_peterek and @saltwater_legend_series for another great tournament!
Recent trip to Mansfield produced lots of quality fish! 3 fish over 7lbs every day with plenty of 4-5 pounders! Biggest going 8.25! Triggering reaction strikes was key
Game plan came together yesterday! Team work made the dream work. Took us about 45 mins to get our two trout going 5.21 and 6.03. It took us a minute to get them to bite, we saw slicks and scared bait everywhere. We kept casting waiting for them to turn on and they sure did! then turned and burned to grind for our reds going 7.33 and 6.75 slowly upgrading as the day went on. Our trout came off of the 6th sense shindo, gambler flapping shad and down south’s! Reds loved the gold spoon, 6th sense party paddle, and down south tails! Also took home spot pot with 10 spots! And big trout side pot! Thank you to the islander anglers for another great tournament. Big trout season is right around the corner! Contact me to catch some fish of a lifetime!
