In December 2025 THATCH undertook OS&E for Studio Ashby project Tamodi in Product Development of ceramic ware, fabrics and timber items as well as Sourcing of functional items, objects and books.
THATCH is a design studio founded by neighbours Amy Ellenbogen Badenhorst and Yvonne Brecher Lundie of Rowan Lane, Kenilworth, Cape Town. Our work is driven by a fascination with image, text, everyday rituals, and vintage memories relived to communicate a deep understanding of form, guided by function, purpose, and play. Our services are focused on Sourcing, Curation and Design without limiting ourselves to Experiment beyond the norm. With over 13 years experience in art and architecture we want to bring these worlds closer together, by seeking meaningful collaborations across multiple disciplines. Every project follows an instinct that seek cultural significance, integration of craft, materiality, and unconventional combinations.
