Who created One of the 1st Skate Mags in Australia,
- ‘Perfect Transition’
& taught Me the Skate History I hold so dear to this Day.
.Absolutely Love this Bloke, Family forever;
A true Pioneer of Australian Skate & Punk Scenes,
A Lifer, an Icon, & just an all round fantastic Man.
.Back when We were Kids;
When We knew only the newest Skaters;
Dave was teaching Us ALL where We came from;
Of the Giants of our chosen subculture;
The Highs and Lows of a Physical-ArtForm I’ll forever associate with AntiEstablishment, True Values,
& a Lust for Life in a Culture & Activity
that has saved my own Life countless Times,
& enriched it greatly on the Way.
.Most of these Blokes & Women that MADE this ArtSport;
created this Culture in Sweat & Tears, & LOTS of Blood:
& will never be known, & often are just the Bloke
next to You at ALDI buying their Vegetarian Dinner,
Before going Home for DrumPractise
& scaring z’Neighbours (I’m looking at You Dave).
.Many are GrandFathers now, as they deserve to Be,
Quietly watching their HardWork for Others pay off,
With nigh a moment of SelfGratification.
.Here is to ALL of the Men and Women who made our LifeStyle what it is today, for without Them We’d still be playing TheGame & bragging of StockMarket Gains,
in TightSuits & SuspiciousMinds.
.Kick in the Door of Power,
for regardless if You break through:
The Action is what Counts.
.Here is to the AvanteGarde, the first Warriors,
who took the brunt so others could eat popcorn,
and watch Skating at the Olympics.
.This Art was Born from Blood,
& shall return to it at the proper Time,
And God will look-on approvingly,
on the disillusioned Youth who followed the Path
that these Giants built, for having Fun Again.
.Proud forget to call Him my Family, my Uncle,
my Inspiration since a Child.
