Eu acho que não preciso dizer que a minha mãe é a minha maior fonte de inspiração para tudo na vida.
Há dias em uma conversa ela me contou pela milésima vez que quando estava a minha espera foi a altura em que pintou mais quadros que nunca, sem bloqueios e muita fluidez, como ela mesma disse "não foi uma gestação foi uma residência artística". Não sei se é verdade ou é uma das histórias dela, mas absorvi essa informação e procurei um propósito até tudo isso fazer sentido. Acho que encontrei.
A minha mãe é a matriz, é a genise é a conexão umbilical que nunca foi disconectada. Ela é aquela mão respingada de tinta, é aquele cheiro a diluente, é aquela bagunça onde ela se perde e se encontra, é aquele sorriso meigo, aquele olhar preocupado, coração grande, mãe de quem procura um afago maternal...ela é a minha luz, Lúcia!

The Cordoaria Nacional will house its fifth physical edition from 19 to 22 May, displaying artistic content from the more than 70 galleries selected by the Organising Committee and the teams curating its different sections.

The General Programme, features national and international galleries whose projects will confirm their commitment to quality content. ARCOlisboa is also strengthening the two main curated sections: África in Focus, with the participation of African galleries and Opening Lisboa, focused on newer galleries, that will bring new contents and investigations to the fair.

Since I first came into contact with photography, I have been exploring its many forms and how it can be used to tell stories. For the past year, I have been studying ways of integrating audiovisual language in my pieces. This an excerpt from an experiment I produced during my residency in @artistinresidencemunich entitled “Mapa de Saudades.”
I challenge time and space, and like a supernatural creature, I travel back to 1990, visiting the dreams of the Magermanes who had just returned from the GDR, in the midst of their abrupt departure following the fall of the Berlin Wall.
Since 2023, I’ve been trying to make my work more hands-on to really feel it, connect with it. It’s not an easy process, and definitely not as relaxing as it might seem, but I’m not there yet. With each attempt, I discover new techniques, new ways to improve, slowly moving closer to what I’ve envisioned.
This time, I created a 140x120 cm panel in 2 days. It was insane but I did it 😅. Not exactly how I wanted it, but I really appreciate the process and everything I learn along the way.
