Join us in congratulating the 2026 Houston GulfCorps Crew graduates! 🎓🌊 We are especially proud to celebrate a major milestone!🎉 All five crew members achieved All-Star status, marking the first time in TXCC history that an entire crew let alone a single person has earned this recognition. All-Star status represents going above and beyond regular Gulf Corps program requirements through leadership, professionalism, personal growth, and the commitment service. The crew’s willingness to put in the extra effort for both their communities and their own development truly set them apart. “From day one to now, this term was full of growth, hard work, and unforgettable moments. The spotlight photos capture just a glimpse of the dedication, resilience, and impact this crew made. Congratulations graduates! We’re proud of everything you accomplished and excited to see where your journeys take you next!” - Angelina (Houston CC Staff) 💚👏 #GulfCorps #Houston #Conservation #AmeriCorps #Graduates

🌟Clean & Green Spotlight🌟 On April 25th, 2026, one of the Harris County District Attorney's initiatives, "Cleaner Communities," hosted a cleanup event at Allison Rd. 77048. Clean & Green took a total of 11 participants to this site to combat this known illegal dumping hotspot in Harris County. Our participants received gratitude from nearby neighbors for their hard work and time. Clean & Green also provided tools, bags, and muscle for this event, allowing volunteers to make a greater impact on this community! Members of the District Attorney's office always show their gratitude with lunch and drinks, allowing all Clean & Green participants to enjoy Frenchy's after their hard work! We hope to catch you at the next event! Learn about how Clean & Green is combating illegal dumping in Harris County here (/what-we-do/clean-and-green)!

Halfway there! 🎉🌟 Last week the Houston staff team joined us in Sam Houston National Forest to celebrate the Disaster Recovery Integrated Resource Crew reaching the midpoint of their 1700 term—and to knock out midterm evaluations. Huge thanks to the Forest Service staff who came out and grabbed these group shots with us. ✨ This crew is the first of its kind for us: cross-trained across recreation, heritage, timber, prescribed fire, natural resources and more. They often work in pairs at different host sites, so no two days (or tasks) look exactly the same. So far, that’s meant trail surveys, campground maintenance, timber sale plot monitoring and even red-cockaded woodpecker surveys. What really sets this experience apart: members receive daily supervision, support, and mentorship from both an AYW supervisor and the Forest Service—and that dual mentorship is a big part of what draws people to our programs. Proud of what this team has already logged and excited for what’s next. 🌲💪

Thank you to our amazing volunteers from Snooze A.M. Eatery and the Texas Conservation Corps for helping us to stabilize the banks of Hebert Reservoir! This gorgeous public access point, across from the Indiangrass Preserve and Katy Prairie Welcome Center, offers a mile-long shaded trail. It’s a perfect spot for a beautiful stroll and wildlife viewing. 🦆 #conservation #thankyouvolunteers❤️

Sharing this scene from the ASC conference that our CEO Parc Smith and Austin Conservation Corps Site Director Matthew Stawicki attended in Dallas a couple of weeks ago. Parc (on right) spoke at the Opening Plenary, and Parc and Matthew spoke about our work on the panel: The Next Frontier of Workforce Development: Connecting Service to In Demand Careers. Thank you @statecommission for convening all of the AmeriCorps State Commissions and leaders in workforce development and service from across the country.

🌟Clean & Green Spotlight!🌟 Saturday, April 18th, 2026, Clean & Green worked alongside Greater Northside District Management (GNSDM) (a long-term partner of TxCC) at a community cleanup event, hosted by Harris County, Precinct 2 commissioner Adrian Garcia's Keep2Clean. This event is intended for people to bring their heavy trash to us, encouraging the correct and safe disposal of household trash. Our Clean & Green team picked up a nearby illegal dumpsite on Turner Dr. and properly disposed of 8.5 cubic yards of trash at the event. Clean & Green had a blast!
