The pieces are inspired by the Tibetan chuba, a long, warm robe tied at the waist, originally designed for the harsh cold of Tibet. Its upper part serves as a large pocket used to carry daily necessities—from a wallet to a bowl. This traditional Tibetan garment can also be found echoed in the traditional costumes of Japan, Bhutan, China, Korea, Mongolia, and throughout Asia.
The sleeveless Mila jacket and the Mila vest are adorned with a photograph taken by designer Agnès b., titled “Snowy Memory of Her Garden in Winter.” Since 1996, her photographs have punctuated all her collections, and once again, her gaze finds expression through the lines of the Abode of Snow pieces.
