Another year, another amazing @asla_minnesota Awards Gala! We love gathering with our friends, collaborators, and team to celebrate the incredible work created by our landscape community. A huge congrats to all the award winners!
Highlights of the evening: hanging out as a team with two of our clients (Kelly Leahy, Director of Family Services at @lakewoodcemetery , and Peter Deanovic, Founding Principal at @buhlinvestors ), receiving three merit awards, and our very own Maura McDaniel being named a 2026 Roger Martin Travel Prize finalist (check out her entry boards in photos 3 + 4)! 🎉

Welcome to the new public landscape at the @chattlookouts Stadium and Foundries District, as captured during our recent visit on Opening Day! The site spans more than 100 acres of the former U.S. Pipe and Wheland Foundry, now being transformed into a world-class live-work-play district surrounding the new stadium.
This first phase of work incorporates significant volumes of concrete salvaged from the site, repurposed as slab walls, large rubble elements, and planting mulch. Artifacts and pipe segments were also salvaged for reuse as furniture throughout the public realm. We’re excited to see how this landscape evolves as the district continues to grow!

Happy Earth Day! 🌎 In honor of the holiday, we had a wonderful visit to the @lakewoodcemetery Welcome Center with @umnlandarch students. We visited the gardens, tested and discussed paving and furniture details, and looked at the native and adaptive plants together. The water was turned on at the fountains, and the gardens were filled with both human and nonhuman life. Fun fact- our Tamarack Bog Garden bench can easily fit 24 students!Â
Â
On this Earth Day and every day, we remain committed to creating immersive, resilient landscapes that adapt to social, economic, and environmental transformation, and integrating natural systems and climate resilience across all scales in our work. A prime example of this can be found within the Lakewood Welcome Gardens- the Tamarack Bog Garden collects all rooftop runoff water from the Welcome Center and stores it underneath in a cistern to irrigate the gardens, maintaining natural hydrology. đź’§

Our love for landscape took root early on. 🌼
Today we celebrate the amazing women-led team of TxT, and all the women in our industry who inspire and empower us. Happy International Women’s Day!

This year’s annual TxT winter gathering allowed for some much-needed time for our team to reconnect and recharge. There’s nothing better than coming together to unwind, working with our hands, and getting a little messy.
Thank you to @midtownclay for providing the perfect space for creativity and community, and @bole_mn for the incredibly delicious eats!
We love you. We see your courage. We walk in solidarity with our community.
Please join us in supporting our immigrant neighbors any way you can. Follow the link in our bio for resources.
Our office is open to our community- we would love to see you! Come in for a hug, coffee, conversation, or co-work with us.
TEN x TEN x TEN YEARS: a 2025 recap!
Thank you to our clients, collaborators, and colleagues who made this milestone year so memorable. We are grateful for all of you!
We’re looking forward to even more creative collaboration in 2026. Cheers to a new year of hope for all! 🎉
Prototyping and mock-ups are an integral part of the TxT process, offering a practical way to evaluate material craft and scale in context through a hands-on approach. Our team creates one-to-one scale mock-ups of design elements in various ways, including printing, projection, modeling, and more.
Here are a few examples of detail and material testing for projects including the Treetop Trail at the Minnesota Zoo (interpretive features), Wisdom Woods (wayfinding), and the Dakota Homeland Frames (messaging features) along the Minnesota River.

Last weekend was the Oberlander Prize Forum IV: Soak It Up Conference in Los Angeles, a forum focused on landscape architecture’s role in addressing urban flooding, hosted by @tclfdotorg . Our very own Principal + Co-Founder, Maura Rockcastle, participated in the closing panel: Global Strategies + Perspectives. Alongside speakers John Beardsley, Mario Schjetnan (@gdu_mschjetnan ), Adriaan Gueze (@west8design ), and respondents Chelina Odbert (@kounkuey ) and Patrick Sisson, Maura shared her experience with stewardship within sites of cultural significance along the upper Mississippi River valley, through the lens of two TxT projects: the Mississippi River Learning Center and the Wicaḣapi Messaging Plan, messaging features, and prairie restoration.
Follow the link in our bio for more info on Maura’s presentation and all panel participants.

Historic Fort Snelling at Bdote was recently examined by @timothyaschuler for Case Studies in Design, a collective writing project led by @pennpraxis that aims to inspire culture-shifting dialogue between public agencies, funders, community leaders, schools, and the architecture, landscape, planning, heritage and art fields.
The case study, “Genesis and Genocide: The Dakota Effort to Reclaim Fort Snelling”, examines the collaboration between the Minnesota Historical Society, the Dakota community, and our design and cultural landscape preservation team that led the reclamation of these grounds from that of a military-era landscape to one that is representative of the Dakota’s deep connection to Bdote the Minnesota and Mississippi Rivers.
Follow the link in our bio to read the full case study.
