@bole_mn has been open in MN since 2016, but their path’s been anything but conventional.
Their original location was in the Midway neighborhood of
@visitsaintpaul & they were just about to open up a 2nd location just down the street, when all hell broke loose.
Both of their restaurants were burnt to the ground during the civil unrest of #GeorgeFloyd’s murder in May of 2020 ☹️
But their loyal customers & the amazing St Paul community encouraged them to start a
@gofundme page.
In the first 24 hours alone, they raised over $100,000 from all around the 🌍 which allowed them to open up a new spot, just 1 year after the 🔥
In 2023, they opened an “express” spot in Minneapolis’ Seward neighborhood & in 2025, they opened up another in
@maplegrovemngov .
@bole_mn is committed to providing excellent food from Chefs who pride themselves in preparing only the finest quality meals.
“Bole” is the name of a vibrant neighborhood in Ethiopia’s capital city of Addis Adaba, where Husband + Wife / Co-owners Solomon Haile &
@rekikabaineh were both born & raised.
As a young girl, Rekik would walk the streets of Bolé, exploring the colorful food markets & later be in her mom’s kitchen watching her cook everything up!
Bolé is the reason she dreamt of one day becoming a Chef & letting others enjoy what Ethiopia has to offer.
So when it came time to pick a name for their restaurant, she knew what it’d be!
They’re known for their ‘mouth-watering’ Tibs & Kitfo, which is made with authentic Ethiopian food, herbs & spices, but they also have a lot of delicious veggie + meat entrées.
Whether you’re craving mild or spicy, sweet or savory, light or heavy, veggie or meaty – their menu has something for everyone!
