It’s all heating up now! We’re excited to unveil the second instalment of our GAA Senior Hurling Championship sponsorship campaign for @bordgaisenergy . This year we’re back with The 2 Johnnies who have gotten out of the bath to venture further into the gaff of Wexford hurler Lee Chin. There may be less bathwater this time round but we’re still turning up the heat, the wit and the chaos as we celebrate the world’s fastest field sport. A huge thank you to Meadhbh Quinn (Director of Marketing) and all the team at Bord Gáis Energy for trusting The Tenth Man to join them again as they celebrate an incredible 17 years powering the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship.

As part of our first edition of Fearless Live, we invited Andy Crysell to share his insights of how brands can create more meaningful relationships in culture. Andy spent the 90s as a journalist covering club culture, interviewing the likes of Wu Tang Clan and Massive Attack and writing for publications like The Face and Mixmag. Following the dot com boom, he founded and grew successful agencies across the world, crafting cultural strategy for Nike, Apple and more. In 2023, Andy exited the agency he founded - Crowd DNA, and went on to write Selling The Night: When Club Culture Meets Brands, Advertising and the Creative Industries. The book examines the relationship between nightlife culture and brands and offers case studies as to how brands can engage authentically with cultural spaces. Fearless Live is a new series of events and workshops igniting unfiltered conversations with fearless minds from culture, sport, music, food, design and more. This is just the start... What does it take to be a Champion? Ellie Scotney proved it over the weekend as she was crowned the undisputed junior featherweight champion. Delighted to work with the team in @championeurope & the guys in @smallscreenstudios to welcome Ellie Scotney to the Champion family as part of their growing roster of elite combat fighters. At the heart of Ellie’s story is her challenger mindset, but we didn’t want this story to be told by Ellie herself… Instead, it’s revealed through the voice of the person who knows her best: her Mum. A single voicemail becomes the lens through which we see Ellie, unlocking the honesty of home life against the intensity of elite sport.

In a time where videos are often reduced to ‘content’ and attention is being hacked from every angle, Irish filmmaker @leonnward maintains a creative process of incubating themself from the noise. Tapping into longer form works from the great directors of our time she continues to sidestep the algorithm for inspiration. We spoke to Leonn about instinct, integrity and why the next generation of culture-makers will dissolve boundaries rather than inherit them. Introducing ‘UNDERCULTURE’ a new interview series bringing readers under the bonnet of contemporary culture.
From the DIY parties incubating the next generation of tastemakers to the innovative artists hiding in plain sight, we’re exploring the people and spaces that are rewriting the rules of art, music, fashion, food and creativity, one interview at a time.

Irish filmmaker @leonnward ’s work routinely transforms imagination into something lived in and human. Whether that’s global commercials or music videos for artists as varied as Olivia Rodrigo and Michael Kiwanuka, the end result is a visual that resonates long after it finishes.
