To those protesters that attended the #lld gathering last weekend and booed the First Responders…shame on you. Use your brain, do your own research and start asking the right questions.
I hope that one day, our community can get back to a place of helping each other and working together, like we did that night. Like how so many other people saw. It really is heartbreaking to see how short lived that was. How so much in-fighting has led to so much divide. Pathetic that it is no big surprise, honestly. Almost expected.
To continuing to recover, hopefully in more peaceful times in the near future.

Story Time:
Due to the events of last year’s #LapuLapuDay , Noxy + I garnered a lot of attention. From interviews, to photo shoots, to presentations of gifts/donations…I was very much aware that Koa might be feeling some type of way. He never showed any jealousy, but he tends to take on the family role of silently strong. One day I decided to check in with him + asked if he was feeling left out or jealous because of all the attention his brother was receiving. Without hesitation, he said:
“No! I’m just happy you both survived.”
He followed that up with a huge smile on his face. He continues to share the story of being the reason why him + Matt left the festival early. He wears that fact as a badge of honour, completely aware that all of us would have been hurt if we were all still together that day, waiting for our food from the food truck. He may not always be the center of attention but he grounds our family with his thoughtfulness + strength.
To @k0a_quin , on April 3, 2016 you became my last baby + the one who completes our family -
Continue being the sweet, witty, hilarious, intelligent little boy you are.
We love you so much.

45 + I’m Still Alive.

I’m late on that monthly #LLD update too.
8 Months. That year is coming up pretty fast…
The sweet comments of encouragement and genuine happiness to see me, always warms my heart. Although I may look “back to normal”, I didn’t get here if it wasn’t for hard work given to me by my Kines/OT/Physio/Chiro Team.
Everything is pretty much the same - weak neck, clicking of BOTH knees, edema surrounding previously fractured pelvis. Because I have been favouring my left side over my right, the imbalance has now started to affect my body as well as *drum roll* POSTPARTUM issues that never got dealt with properly. Soooo, I’m still in some sort of pain all day, everyday…the areas have now just shifted.
Can’t say I’m not frustrated. I am. Currently my hardest struggle is the mental dialogue I’ve been having with myself : Is this my new normal? Will this pain just get worse as I get older?
Family, Friends + Music are what’s getting me by and keeping me sane. It always has. 💜
