Zoe and I have compiled three years of work as Temporary Position to create a handbook that shares the ideas, resources and methods of De-Choiring.
We will be showing this archive over one afternoon at @drawspacesydney on Sunday August 25th.
We’d love to see you there ~

DE-CHOIRING / Presenting an Archive
From 2pm, Sunday 25 August at DRAW Space
31A Enmore Road Newtown Gadigal
.
Looking back over two years of De-Choiring, Temporary Position shares an archive of ideas, resources and recordings. De-Choiring is a practice for exploring vocalisation through alternative methods of score-making.
.
The archive will be presented as an installation for one afternoon at DRAW Space giving time to explore the ephemera of De-Choiring happenings. Beyond this moment of reflection, the archive also exists as a handbook to bring De-Choiring to new communities.
.

De-choiring: mapping encounters. A workshop hosted at @rm.gallery with @temporary.position .
Thank you to those who joined Mara, Zoe and I. It was the first iteration of our collaboration and what a full experience we shared. Thank you for scoring, sounding and trying mispronunciation.
Feeling so honoured to be working alongside @mara.mara.mara and @zoemaiaa as @temporary.position to form a conversation between my workshop ways @helpinghands.workshop and theirs. Join the result of the dialogue on the 1st of May and be apart of the emergence of our ideas. Helping Hands and Temporary Position invite you to a collaboration of ideas. De-choiring: mapping encounters is a workshop in sound and visual mapping that highlights our relationship to our immediate surroundings. Across a series of exercises, we will compose a communal sonic map that forms connections between landscape and community.
Please bring a small object of significance that reflects a routine or space you frequent or feel most grounded in. This could be a household object, a trinket, or something found along the way.
Join us at RM Gallery, 3 Samoa House Lane on Wednesday the 1st of May at 6pm. RSVP via bio.
Accessibility note: Please note this venue is accessible only through a flight of narrow stairs. Let us know if you have any accessibility needs that we can support to make you comfortable in the space.
