Igår var det PRAT om bilderbokens hantverk på underbara Litteralund @litteralund , med Emma Virke @emmavirke och Aron Landahl (ni kan se glimtar av foton från Arons ateljé tagna av @elviraglante och lånade med tillstånd av www.raben.se där du kan läsa hela reportaget)

Bild 8: Slump, slump, jag älskar slump. Vännen @sarahsheppard_jobbar invigningstalade m. m. på Litteralund dagen innan jag var där. Och sen! Inte bara råkade jag få samma hotellrum som Sarah, utan även hennes bok som present efter pratet!
Bild 9: @kimwandersson hade gulligt nog gjort en bokserie om Barbro, min dotter. Det hade jag missat.

Fynd från bokhyllan utanför ICA Årsta. Kjell Ivan Andersson aka ”KIA” gjorde så mycket mer än de underbara småsagorna om Vera, Ellen och Cecilia i ”Fem myror”. T ex pocketomslag under den första stora megaboomen för kvalitetspocket i Sverige (ca mitten 60-tal till mitten 70-tal), inspirerad av Penguin och introducerad av Per I Gedin signalerade de här böckerna med sina högklassigt illustrerade omslag KVALITET vilket gjorde att man kunde ta liiite mer betalt än för en vanlig pocket. Konceptet blev en succé och snart hade alla stora förlag sin egen kvalitetspocketserie (med illustrerade omslag). Marknaden mättades och typ dog? Än idag samlar många på ”Vita serien” utgiven på W&W, med form av Vidar Forsberg, illustrationer av Per Åhlin och förlagda av just Per I Gedin.

An ongoing thread in Rudy Loewe’s practice is considering the ways that people gather in times of crisis, such as through the ongoing COVID pandemic, or as a means of trans resistance. In this lecture, Loewe will share recent collective and individual projects that question what might be made possible from collectivity in the face of scarcity and domination.
Rudy Loewe (b. London, 1987) is a multidisciplinary artist who blends painting, drawing, and sculpture to examine a complex web of socio-political dynamics. Through their work, Loewe brings to life histories unearthed through archival research and interviews.
In 2025, Loewe will be the ninth exhibiting artist for the Art on the Underground Brixton Mural Programme. Their upcoming work will honour the historic role that Brixton has played as a gathering space, particularly for London’s black communities, adding another layer to Loewe’s ongoing exploration of culture, identity, resistance and collective memory.
